Product Details

An essential part of a Bones and Raw Food Diet, tripe contains the partially digested grains and grasses that a cow has eaten. As carnivores, dogs and cats cannot convert vegetation into nutrients within their own stomach. However, when they eat tripe, they receive these nutrients that have been already processed naturally by the cow's stomach system.

Also present within the stomach lining are natural gastric juices, amino acids and other digestive enzymes not found in other pet food. These gastric juices and enzymes aid pets in digestion to efficiently utilize food for maximum nutrition. Amino acids are necessary for muscular development and other gastric juices are excellent cleaners for teeth.
Natural food contains a healthy and proportional range of bio-chemicals by weight and volume. Tripe has an exceptional balance of calcium to phosphorus and the overall pH is slightly acidic, which is better for digestion. It contains Linoleic and Linolenic essential fatty acids in their recommended proportions, as well as Omega 3 and 6. We put Krill in our cat food to boost Taurine levels and add a flavor that cats love. Krill comes from the sea and is a general term that describes the many species of open-ocean crustaceans. Taurine is an essential amino acid that is vital for many things, including eyesight. Unlike dogs, cats cannot produce Taurine naturally and must receive it by eating Taurine enhanced diets. Check our links to find out more about this valuable ingredient.

A dog or cat's digestive system, and the way their food is utilized for growth, maintenance, repair and reproduction is the same as their wild counterparts. Both dogs and cats are hunters and scavengers and will eat whatever is available, primarily other animals. As carnivores, they are anatomically designed for a diet consisting of raw meat and bones. Wild carnivores also eat small amounts of vegetation obtained by consuming the stomach and intestinal contents of their prey that contain fermenting grass and other plant material.

MoreDogs and cats have short intestines containing powerful digestive juices capable of breaking down and extracting nutrients from tough fibers, raw meat and even bones. Their saliva and stomach juices kill many bacteria and parasites present in raw food, (especially in ripe raw food) that might otherwise cause digestive upsets. Even young puppies and kittens are able to eat raw minced tripe without suffering digestive upsets. Growth rates are steady with good muscle development without excessive weight gain or putting stress on fast-developing bones. Unlike the higher protein content and mineral imbalance of red meat, tripe can be safely g

My 7 dogs love it. 2 shar-peis,3 poms including 2 puppies, a yorkie and a chihuahua. They eat it everyday and I don't mix it with kibble. I keep kibble available at all times but I don't mix it. The lamb blend doesn't smell as much as the plain green tripe. I don't notice the smell unless I get it too close to my nose. Bottomline, my dogs eat it and want it. My shar-peis have had bad allergies for years. Ear infections so severe the Drs. wanted to do surgery (ear abilation not sure of spelling)to remove his ear canal. And my other shar-pei has had allergy tests to confirm she's allergic to trees, mold, grass, weeds; basically everything. She would scratch all day and night and was red and made her skin raw. Neither of my shar-pei have had any issues with skin or ears since they've been on this. I belive in any kind of tripe food. I would'nt pay what it costs and feed this to them daily if I didn't believe it has helped them. It's a little costly but so worth it. Each shar-pei gets 1 to 1 1/2 cans a day. And the 5 little guys split 1 can themselves. My dogs coats look so good, healthy. This website has the best price I have found but I live nearby and don't pay shipping, I pick up at store. I tried raw meat diet, my dogs don't care for it. They gobble tripe. I've tried every tripe brand of food on the market, this is their favorite. I alternate with their other fav Solid Gold Green Cow. They are trying BC before grain tripe (black can) it's runnier not solid in can. They like it too. Try it, It's good for them, they like it and they are worth it!

I was super excited to receive this product, but the result was not what I expected. My dog is absurdly picky. I read all these amazing reviews about how this product will change his appetite and he'll be compelled to eat. Not only did it smell absolutely vile (I had to leave the room) but he looked at me like I was insane for expecting him to consume such a product. I definitely wouldn't buy this again.

Picky Eater Loves It

Comments about Tripett Green Beef Tripe Original Formula Canned Dog Food:

I have a ten month Morkie that is one of the pickiest eaters our vet has ever seen. She ate some kibbles and canned food at first but then she stopped. We ended up feeding her cooked chicken and beef with vitamin supplements. When she started getting picky with that we tried kibbles with just enough of the green beef tripe mixed in to cover the kibbles. She absolutely loves this. We are so relieved that she is now getting a good quality food.

      Lola LOVES This Tripe!

Comments about Tripett Green Beef Tripe Original Formula Canned Dog Food:

I would prefer to feed raw uncooked tripe, but, it is harder to store, messy and hard to find. This is a second best choice. I add a couple of tablespoons to her dinner. Of course she would rather have it straight off the spoon!

I don't think it has any bad smell at all. I have been feeding it to my 3 dogs for a while. One is an elderly rescue who is doing great. I swear he even looks younger! They also love it. I mix it in their dry feed every other day. Worth every penny.

My Chinese Shar-Pei is a finicky eater. She Loves this canned tripe. Since I noticed it includes Carrageenan gum (which poses a health risk in pets if consumed regularly), I switched to PetKind Tripe formulas that do not have Carrageenan in it.
