My two cats were adopted ferals, though they like a cozy bed inside, they prefer the outdoors even in cold/damp conditions of the Pacific NW. My boy started having issues with skin conditions, he was also pulling his hair off his back. I decided to make the switch to grain-free food and I have never seen them look so revived. Their coats are thick and shiny, the fluffiest and vibrant I have seen. It's almost as if this diet has revived their lives of 5 years. Highly recommended.

I got a bag of Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountain Feline Formula (Venison and Salmon) and my cat really loved it. When the bag was empty I thought I'd try the Canyon River Feline Formula (trout and salmon) to give him another taste experience. That turned out to be a really big mistake. He wouldn't eat the stuff at all. Now mind you my cat is not a finicky eater so if he won't eat this food it must be really bad.[...]So the Canyon River food was returned, I went back to a bag of Rocky Mountain, my cat is eating again and very happy once again if I may add.My suggestion: get the Rocky Mountain formula and leave the Canyon River formula on the shelf at your pet store. If I could have given the Canyon River formula no stars I would have done that.

Comments about Taste of the Wild Canyon River with Trout and Smoked Salmon Dry Cat Food:

Have had cats for over 40 years now, no I am not a hoarder, only one or two at a time. Must say that grain free is the way to go. Mine are indoors exclusively now, it is just too dangerous these days to let your cats outside, and they are perfectly happy indoors, especially when you have two. And mine get along with the dogs very well also. In any case, this is great food, grain free, they have much more energy and healthy output as well. Let mine free feed and they do well with it, but every evening also mix in a bit of canned Taste of Wild or similar and they have a handful of this dry food during the day to munch on. This is superior food, mine love it, they will eat what they want and walk away, so there is no "sugar spike" from grains that makes them hungry again. I would recommend this food to all cat owners, they love it and eat with no issues. It lasts longer as they eat less of it than the big brand commercial stuff, and are satisfied. Do try this, and always remember to introduce new foods gradually, mixing with your old stuff and weaning away. Never start any animal suddenly on new foods and then blame intestinal issues on the food. Think you will agree this is superior.

This cat chow is very dark in color/has a lot of fish meat in it & no fillers whatsoever. It's her main food w/a 1/2 teaspoon Fancy Feast Florentine Favorites in the am & pm.

My cat is finicky but loves this food. Her coat is like velvet and her vet has commented on how soft her fur is though being an older cat. Won't buy anything else!

Comments about Taste of the Wild Canyon River with Trout and Smoked Salmon Dry Cat Food:

We had our cat for nearly a year before finding a pet food he didn't get bored of after a couple of days. He flocks to this food like it's treats, but it's healthy and keeps him spry.

An interesting aside is that once our cat started eating this food, he started hunting down and bringing home mice. I don't know if the two things are related.
