I cannot say enough good things about this product! I just ordered two so I won't worry I will run out. I have just transitioned to raw for all 5 of my cats. I feed raw Murray's nonhormone chicken and since my husband is a deep sea fisherman, we feed them raw fish as well as the Prairie Variety beef medallions. I add the Prowl to the raw chicken to get their taste buds going. I also serve alone with distilled water. Very important to leave on counter to soak water for at least 10 minutes. I also throw away any uneaten Prowl after 30 or so minutes. You must treat this product for what it is - dehydrated raw. It has alot of other benefits - the 25% necessary fruits, vegs and supplements that must be in any raw diet. But I do supplement with Wysong AddLife powder just to make sure my cats get enough calcium/magnesium because that is so important. Taurine also is gained through the addition of any raw diet. I went to a holistic vet and she just loved the Prowl. Just her positive impressions of the product encouraged me to know I am on the right track with diet in my household. You will really love this product!!

I am so disappointed that not one of my 3 cats will touch this as I wanted to get them on more natural foods. I tried mixing with chicken broth, their dry food, nothing helped. I have a 17 yr old cat in renal failure that I had hoped would eat it to help him avoid unnatural ingredients that some foods have. I am wondering if it would be okay to feed to the dogs as they like the freeze dried foods.

Comments about The Honest Kitchen Prowl Cat Food:

I'm going to give this another try mixing it with their Verus canned food. I mixed this up once and all 3 turned their noses up at it. After reading the reviews I'm going to give it another try. I'd really like to get them off the kibble even though I use Merrick Before Grain which is high quality. I'd like them to eat mostly raw/fresh/wet food.

It took several meals mixed with canned food before my cats would eat Prowl but now they both seem to enjoy it. I'm happy with the product!

Comments about The Honest Kitchen Prowl Cat Food:

I'd like to see a heavier texture, the particles are so fine. However, you have to mix with enough water otherwise you get a tough paste that will pack around the gumline. A small chunky texture would be ideal.
I've raised Persian cats for over 15 years on a very small scale and mainly feed raw chicken and turkey in small chunks with a supplement powder. I do like to alternate with Prowl and a high quality canned for variety to which I add a package of chicken gizzard and hearts from the grocery. I cut it up a bit so the cats have something to chew, which is better for their teeth, gums and jaw muscles.

Comments about The Honest Kitchen Prowl Cat Food:

My kitty was just diagnosed two months ago with kidney disease. She was dehydrated, her coat was matted and ugly. She was taken to the vet. She was put on fluids to rehydrate her. She is taking meds for kidney disease, but this food keeps her maintained and hydrated. This food is also easy to digest and it keeps her drinking lots of water which is very good for her kidneys. Her fur is beautiful and she is frisky. My kitty of 17 years old is doing great!
