My cat Jasper had repeated issues with urinary crystals. The vet recommended putting him on a special urinary health food. Since he is also overweight, I changed over from Science Diet to Royal Canin SO Moderate Calorie. Jasper hasn't had an updated urinalysis yet, so I can't say how well it is working, but he does enjoy both the canned and dried food. Since he raids his sister's dish, she is on the same food now. It's pricey, but if it solves his health problem, I'm willing to pay the extra price. He gives a lot of love back for his care.

I wanted to give the cats some variety from diet
of dry food. Very disappointed that neither will
touch the morsels except to lick the gravy off
them. The male cat is troubled by crystals in
urine, so his choices are limited. Previous
cats whom I fed on Fancy Feast would not eat
morsel type food in that brand either. I'm
    out thirty-five dollars.

    justify cost

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Canned Cat Food:

My cat was cured of crystals in two courses of antibiotics and about 7 days of the food, that's great! However, I am not one of these apparently wealthy people who's reviews I see at first glance. Who can afford cat food that costs more that canned crab meat? I was hoping to find a discount club for disabled seniors on a fixed income perhaps a coupon, or a direct buy price list. I recommend those to the company. Rated Excellent for results but poor because good nutrition should not be available exclusively to the rich. Value is very high to me, I want my animals healthy they keep me alive. But ability to pay limits my ability to do the right thing. I don't see evidence and comparative analysis that tells me WHY this product alone can achieve the goal? And more importantly how other foods do not? You have artfully composed your questions and drop-down answers, like all questionnaires, to limit qualification. Like "What kind of pet?" I have several rescue pets, 3 cats and a dog. I would like to feed them all food of this high quality. All manufacturers assert the same things. And herein your reviews others tell that super costly hills is not good. The end of symptoms is a fine indicator of results but not an explanation.

This is a very good quality food. My cat loves it. Maybe a little too much. So pleased the company came out worth the moderate calorie. My cat has not had any other urinary problems since the Dr put him on this food about 8 years ago.

    Great food for Urinary Issues

    By Happy kitty mom

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Canned Cat Food:

I started my kitten on the Urinary SO when he was 6 months old. He loved it. I had trouble getting him to eat meat at first but he gobbled this up right away. I got him at 2 weeks old when his mama left him. He was a bottle baby. He has not had any urinary issues since starting this food. He was on antibiotics from the time he was a month old but no more after eating this food. I just wish it would come in chicken flavors too.

    He loves it

    By Cindysue

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Canned Cat Food:

Been buying this on vets advise. My cat had total blockage and fourtnatly I had some money saved to save his life. So this is his food to stay on for life. Glad to say he loves it and I feed him the dry and the mig moderate calorie. Even tho I have 4 other cats he will come to me to give him his food. Funny the others had looked at his food and turned up their noses and now all want some when I feed him. But they can't, but I sneak a few morsels instead of treats, which I think was my cats problem in the first place. I pray I can keep buying his food, kinda expensive considering the other cat foods, but I understand this is a medicine food. But I'm happy he loves it and he is still alive and healthy. Thank you.
