Comments about Blue Buffalo Freedom Grain Free Small Breed Adult Chicken Recipe Dry Dog Food:

Actually I feed it to five small to medium size dogs. My smallest is a toy breed. Before Blue Buffalo she stayed so thin. She looked anorexic! I have been feeding her Blue Buffalo for 2 months now and she has put on the needed weight. She looks healthy and is more active. Now she weights almost 4 lbs. instead of 3! She eats all of the food, but she likes to pick out those little pieces. They seem to be her favorite. All my dogs love this food. It is more than I am used to paying, but for the benefits, it is worth it. I will continue using this product.

      WOOF WOOF WOOF!
My people give me, a 12lb Shih Tzu/Rat Terrier mix, about 1/2 cup twice a day. On weekends or as a special treat, I get 1/2 can of Blue Buffalo Freedom canned dog food with a 1/4 cup -/+ of the dry food.
      I LOVE IT!
I used to have problems with throwing up my food and bounced back and forth between constipation and diarrhea. I'm pretty regular now.

Comments about Blue Buffalo Freedom Grain Free Small Breed Adult Chicken Recipe Dry Dog Food:

I had my 2-year-old dachshund/chihuahua/beagle mutt on Blue Buffalo Wilderness for small dogs for the first 6 months I had him. When I came to Pet Food Direct & decided to try the auto-ship method, they didn't have the Wilderness variety, so I thought I'd at least stick with Blue Buffalo.

***Personal story here. Skip to next set of stars if you don't care to read.***

When I finally got my first shipment, I was at the tail end of my supply of Wilderness, and we had recently made a drastic relocation that caused Winston to lose his appetite. I had expected a slight change, but was just about to start trying extra raw food to try and keep him from losing any more weight. He is normally not picky about any food whatsoever (the beagle in him is highly food-motivated, of course, and the dachshund doesn't slow his appetite at all), but had started leaving the "life source bits" out entirely.

Now this formula still contains life source bits, but it was different enough and smelled appetizing enough to my stressed little pup that he clearly wanted some of the new food right away when I opened the bag! Since we'd been having such trouble and weight loss, I gave him about half a meal's worth despite it being closer to bedtime than mealtime. He literally licked the bowl clean!

The next morning, he got up on time with the programmable feeder & ate every last spec of food--life source bits and all. He has been back on his regular, programmed, routine schedule ever since.

        *********
I like Blue Buffalo because it's a brand with integrity. I can rely on their formulas to be safe and nutritious for my dog. Clearly, they're appetizing enough to excite a dog even during those times when they're not feeling like their usual, tail-waggin' selves. There's a variety for every dog's needs, and most of the options are grain-free. I am willing to spend a little more to be sure that my dog is getting this quality of care, and I'm still not spending as much as some of the comparable competitors.

I have a Petmate LeBistro programmable feeder with a 10-pound hopper, and an 11-pound bag of this food lasts me a little over a month, feeding Winston 1/2 a cup of Blue Buffalo twice a day (1 cup each day).

The extra pound of food is handy and usually goes in a container for use at my mom's when he's there or at the kennel should I need to leave him while I'm away.
