My male cat was hospitalized for a urinary tract blockage. I had to find a new food for him that did not contain products which could be harmful to his condition. He did not like any of the many different foods I tried. I found Royal Canin wet and dry. He LOVES this food. It is beneficial for his health and he seems to love the flavor. It has been 2 years and he is healthier than ever.

I had high hopes for this product for my cats. I have two older ones and one of them, Tiger, just found to have urinary problems. The other is a small female calico. At first, they ate a little, but now I end up throwing it away. They sniff it and turn away. I read all the reviews before purchasing and thought sure they would gobble it up. It may be because I made the switch to suddenly and completely, but I need to try something else to get them to eat.[...]

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Urinary SO in Gel Canned Cat Food:

I'm giving this four starts because it does seem to work - my crystal-prone cat hasn't had any further incidences since we started, and he's been on it for a few years now. The downside is that it is a highly processed commercial cat food product - prior to this we fed a raw diet, and I really wish there was something a bit more natural that was also formulated to help cats with urinary issues. Or at least a grain-free option. The cat does appear to like it (he's not picky), but it smells terrible and makes his stool smell awful as well (I might be picky here, since on a raw diet his stool had no odor once buried - this stuff can clear a room).

Works great for cats with feline urinary track inflamation. Saved my cats life. He's been without a attack for 8 months after the last nearly cost him his life.
