Claims to manage itching in 3 weeks. I've been feeding it for 6 weeks and see no change. Also the first ingedient (potato) is a contributer to yeast infections (unknown to me at the time). My dog has a yeast infection and startches (potato) turn to sugar and promote the infection. I learned this later after further research; something a vet should know.

Comments about Iams Veterinary Formulas Iams Veterinary Formula Skin and Coat Response FP Dry Dog Food:

My German shepherd puppy has suffered from Diarrhea since we brought her home. No matter what we tried she had large voluminous stools along with intermittent diarrhea 4-6x/day. After starting this product her stools have decreased in volume and only 2-3x/day. There has also been no problems with diarrhea. She is gaining and maintaining her weight with this easy digestible food.

Seems to Work-Our Dogs Like It

Comments about Iams Veterinary Formulas Iams Veterinary Formula Skin and Coat Response FP Dry Dog Food:

Our 6 year old Westie suddenly developed allergies which are affecting his skin. Our vet prescribed Iams Veterinarian Formula Skin and Coat FP for one of our dogs, as a way of ruling out food allergies (previously used Sammy Snacks Duck and Potato since 6 months old-- and switched to Earth Born Holistic Bison a few moths ago). Since he free-feeds and the other eats all his at a sitting, we put both dogs on the Iams food.
Both dogs ate it without a fuss, and seems to digest well with no soft stool.
Only issue is the price, very expensive. However, we are hoping over time we can migrate to a different food, after we rule out food allergies.

Comments about Iams Veterinary Formulas Iams Veterinary Formula Skin and Coat Response FP Dry Dog Food:

The vet put my dog on this product over a decade ago to deal with allergies and dry skin. I've tried other products when I had difficulty getting this product. My dog had issues with all of the others (digestive problems) with one exception, and that alternative is more expensive (at least 20% depending on supplier). People always comment on how good her coat looks, even at 14 yrs old. I can only get her to eat it by mixing with soft food, but that has always been true of any dry food I've given her.
