Taste of the Wild High Prairie Canine Formula Roasted Bison & Venison Dry Dog Food What are the health benefits of venison for my dog?
Venison is an oft-overlooked meat when it comes to a dog’s diet, but it shouldn’t be, as it’s a highly beneficial one. Venison is a lean, protein-rich, heart-healthy meat that helps gives dogs strong bones and muscles. It’s also a highly digestible food source that particularly benefits dogs with protein sensitivities, as lean proteins tend to work better for these kinds of dogs. (The other main ingredient, bison, is also a highly digestible source of protein.)
How many calories are in Taste of the Wild High Prairie Canine Formula Roasted Bison & Venison Dry Dog Food?
A cup of Taste of the Wild High Prairie Canine Formula Roasted Bison & Venison Dog Food contains 3, 7719 kcal, which translates to calculated metabolized energy. Talk to your vet about the proper daily caloric intake for your dog. What are some of the main ingredients in Taste of the Wild High Prairie Canine Formula Roasted Bison & Venison Dry Dog Food?
Buffalo, roasted bison, roasted venison, lamb meal, chicken meal, tomatoes, blueberries, sweet potatoes, and peas are just some of the active, healthy, main ingredients in Taste of the Wild High Prairie Canine Formula Roasted Bison & Venison Dry Dog Food. From a storage and spoilage perspective, dry food is cost-effective and practical for both dog and owner. I raised a difficult breeded Labradoodle from a pup. She was prone to stomach, coat, and vomit problems with regular inexpensive popular dog food brands. It took another 6 tries with other brands with lesser food value before I tried this one. She has been on this brand for over 11 months and all problems have ceased.
This brand has high food value to the dollar. It is available through local pet stores. It has more protein than most brands and a good level of fat for any dog.
Her digestion is now normal. Her stools are soft/dry and not overly smelly.
Her activity level is high, she has an excellent attention span. She can jump, run, quick turn, balance, seek/peek, and sneak. I credit all those attributes to the high grade food.
Her overall health is excellent, fine coat, strong bones, huge powerful muscles, clear eyes, no drainage, white teeth, and weighs 83lbs. at 15 months.

I have 2 rescue labs (one is a 80lb mix and the other is a senior 100 lb. English black lab). Let me first say that I have only been feeding them this brand for a week; so it's a little earlier to tell if their coats/skin itchiness will improve, but I have mixed reactions from my labbies about the taste. My senior is not too crazy at all about the taste (Bison/Venison) and every time I put down his bowl of food he looks at me like, "really....I have to eat that again?!" and the other lab just inhales the food (loves it). Now my senior lab eats everything usually especially dead things and trash so I was so surprised that he doesn't like the taste. So,...OK, I will be fair and buy the salmon flavor next and see how that goes. The product seems to be a very high quality food and I am anxious to see if this will help with all the scratching and biting on their poor legs & feet. I will comment back in a couple of weeks, but am staying very hopeful about TOTW food.

This food is far more superior than many out there and affordable. I have been using Four years after switching my shepard from solid gold. Today my Shepard, Blue pit mastiff, and Red nose pit terrier are healthy and strong with great coats. I can switch between either flavor without any issues. Highly Recommended.

I have 5 dogs, Lab, Great Dane, Doberman, Pitbull-Mix and a Dachshund. They all get Taste of the Wild. I started feeding it almost 5 yrs. ago and would NEVER feed anything else. My Great Dane never had intestinal problems which the breed is prone to. My Lab has HD and it was very easy to manage her weight with TOTW. My Doberman is blue, a rescue, when I first adopted her she was covered in bumps and her alopecia was bad. Now her coat is shiny and no skin issues. It's a little pricey and you hardly get it on sale but it's well worth it. You save a lot on your vet bill.

Comments about Taste of the Wild High Prairie Canine Formula Roasted Bison & Venison Dry Dog Food:

I adopted a German Sheppard/Husky mix puppy that immediately started showing health problems... Her urine was dark and REALLY strong smelling as was her almost constant gas and at 6 months old could still not hold her bladder for more than 3 hours at a time. My vet was clueless and things got worse. She started vomiting up everything she ate and my vet started medicating her for problems she didn't have..($$$$$) After trying several different dog foods and finally cooking for her every day I figured out that the grains were the problem. I started buying Taste of the Wild dog food and all those problems cleared up right away. I hadn't even realized the urinary problems were related to the stomach ones! It is now one year later and she is still doing great. Happy and healthy! I also switched my elderly small dog to this and the weight problems she was always prone to are improving as well... now my 12 year old has the energy to chase the puppy around the house. I did have to try a few flavors to find one everyone liked but it was really worth it. Also note that even though it is pricier than regular dog food, it is more nutritionally dense so you feed them less of this than you would a dog food full of corn. The price difference isn't too bad at all once you realize one bag of dog food is lasting a lot longer than it used to.

Our dog is allergic to chicken. It is really hard to find a food with out chicken by products (like chicken fat)along with being grain free, in a reasonably priced dog food. This fits the bill quite well
