I have tried every cat litter solution and have literally spent over a $1000.00 over the years just on boxes. The problem is I am lazy. I have tried every electric model including two versions of the litter robot, and at least three versions of the litter maid. Luckily I have very accomodating cats so they don't have a problem going from one to another, the problem to some extent is me, some extent the units. The litter robot, develops a skin of poo and litter residue all over the unit's rotating part so if you don't make sure that the reservoir level of detritus remains well below the the radius required for the rotation of the unit, the whole top part of the unit gets dirty. Further this is extremely difficult to clean given the sticky nature of clumping cat litter, so once you have missed the mark, the rotating part (the most visable) become a mess, I live in an apartment so I don't have a hose. If you have a hose and power washer and are dedicated, I am sure the Litter Robot is great. Also Maine coons are large and one who with all good intention would enter the box to pee left her fanny sticking out so her urine would run down the outside, they tried to accommodate this eventuality with a perforated step but anything caught by that would run under the drawer liner, mess, anything not caught ran onto the floor. (This didn't happen when she pooed, because she would turn around to poo. I think this is pretty common.) Don't get me wrong, I liked the robot but it is not for the multiple large cat owner. As for the Litter Maid, I have had all the usual problems--one they don't tell you about is humidity--if you live in a humid climate the pee and poo never dry out sufficiently to allow the scraping mechanism to work efficiently the result is a mechanism endlessly trying to do it's job and a solid lump of litter, urine and excrement develops on the floor of the reservoir. So the Breeze has been a revelation. Clean, dry, easy--buy some latex gloves--it is extraordinately forgiving. The pads are extraordinarily good at absorbing urine and preventing odor, the "litter" is very good at drying the poo, making it easy to pick out, use gloves not the shovel. Overall, even for a lazy cat owner like me it makes cleaning easy and smell minimal. Love the Breeze.

I bought the breeze system to cut down on litter tracking, which it does. The cats still kick the pellets out of the box, however, and I am constantly sweeping them up. The pellets are also hard and hurt if you step on one, and when the cats scratch in the box, it makes a lot of noise. However, I still like this system better than clay or scoopable litter. The pads work very well, and I change them about as often as recommended (every 3 days for 2 cats). The only drawback is you have to be careful to get the pad in the tray squarely and push down the corners and sides. Otherwise, if it moves a little the urine will get around the sides of the pad and collect under it, making a big mess. You also have to make sure to change it when needed for the same reason. I keep an extra pad under the box just in case.

Comments about BREEZE Litter System BREEZE Cat Refill Pads:

The Breeze Litter System, Refill Pads, and Refill Pellets are the best litter system I've ever used, hands down. I've been using it for six years, ever since I brought my cat home from the humane association. He adjusted to it at once. I hardly ever find a pellet tracked into the house (from the mud room), and when I do, he is usually playing with it. I hate cleaning the litter box, and usually only scoop the feces once a week. This has not been a problem. Also, to stretch my dollars, I only change the pad every two weeks. (This might not be possible with your cat, depending on how much s/he urinates.) There has very rarely been any odor coming from the litter box.

When I first started using the litter system, I put the pad in wrong a couple times (it got scrunched up), and there was urine in the bottom of the pan, which was a mess to clean up. This hasn't happened in years, and it should never happen to you if you are careful about placing the pad correctly. The pellets last a long time, but I replace them when they become discolored. After using the litter system for five years, I replaced it with a new one, but I probably didn't have to. I just wanted to for my cat.

I would never willingly go back to using clump litter, which my previous cat tracked all over the house. The Breeze system is the best!

Comments about BREEZE Litter System BREEZE Cat Refill Pads:

I tried going to a more "green" system, but the tracking was too much of a problem. After two weeks I went back to the BREEZE system. I love the minimal clean up. I change the pads every week, scoop out the pellets in the spot where the cats (pee) repeatedly, and add just a bit more litter pellets. The feces can't be flushed because of the pellets, but I dispose of in lunch sacks (to minimize plastic bag use) and throw out with the garbage. I've also started adding a little bit of baking soda to the pads after I change them--I think this helps with odor control.
