Product Details

Dogs by nature are healthiest on fresh, whole foods. Sojos Grain-Free Dog Food Mix (formerly Sojos Europa Grain Free Dry Dog Food Mix) is made with simple, honest ingredients like dried sweet potatoes, whole eggs, and apples. No preservatives. Nothing artificial.

Because Europa is grain-free, it's great for sensitive dogs. Simply soak it in water and add raw beef, turkey, or chicken. It's a great way to give your dog a fresh, home-prepared meal in minutes.

Europa is also a great fruit & veggie supplement to our other diets.

Features & Benefits

Starting Out

It is crucial to switch your animal to Europa gradually. We recommend at least a two-week transition (4-6 weeks for older, ill, or finicky animals). Start with just a tiny bit of Europa, raw meat, and water mixed with the food you're currently using and gradually increase each day as you decrease your pet's old food.

Instructions

Combine Europa, meat, and water. Let soak in refrigerator (preferably overnight) and serve. You can mix a four-day batch ahead of time and refrigerate in a sealed container or keep larger batches in the freezer. Shake bag occasionally to keep ingredients mixed. For adult and geriatric dogs we recommend once-a-day feeding. For puppies we recommend twice-a-day feeding. (For twice-a-day feeding, split the amounts below in half.) Measurements are listed in cups.

We at Sojourner Farms believe in feeding variety, and thus encourage adding veggies and other healthy foods to Europa, in addition to meat. For small animals mix in a teaspoon of chopped veggies per meal. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup or more for larger animals. Recommended vegetables include chopped greens, carrots, and other natural foods such as cooked rice, yogurt, or eggs. Avoid citrus fruits, onions, and spicy foods. Europa also works as a great supplement to our other dog food mixes!

I have 4 dogs: Boxer, English Bulldog, Pomeranian, Yorkie, and they all love this food! I add hot water to it about 1-2 hours prior to feeding time and then mix in raw ground chicken or turkey. Their energy levels have increased and their coats have become softer. I started looking in to dog nutrition and what kinds of food their bodies were made for so I am staying away from grains. I am certain that the long term health benefits will be great and hoping they will live longer and healthier. It does get on the floor when they are eating and I just wipe up with a paper towel, but the small clean up is well work the benefits.

My dog is allergic to most vegetables, grains, and proteins so this was the only commercial brand that only had 1 ingredient that she shouldn't eat. She loved it! The bad part is that even though we've increased the portion size recommended on the bag, and given her more protein that listed, she can't stop losing weight. At the start of this new diet, she probably could have lost 5 lbs. After 3 months, she's lost almost 20. We had to stop using SOJO. It didn't matter how much we fed her, she went to the "bathroom" 7-9 times a day. Doubt she was getting much nutrition at all.

      Gassy dog, messy food

Comments about Sojourner Farms Sojos Grain-Free Dog Food Mix:

I tried this food for about 8 weeks. I cooked the meat I added, and my dog loved it. Problem is, it always ended up splattered all over the wall and floor while my dog ate. Also, she was always very gassy from "both ends." Not sure if the gas was the food itself or if she just takes in too much air while eating wet food.

I like the idea of the food, but it gets expensive with a 50lb dog buying the meat in addition to the dry mix. My dog's coat looked terrible after about 6 weeks of feeding. I've since changed to Acana. Much better results - coat was back to near normal after about 2-3 weeks on Acana and no more gas. I can't help but to blame Sojos for her terrible coat.
