I have 2 "classic" Siamese cats who I was feeding Royal Canin Siamese exclusively. Last year at their annual checkup the vet told me that one of them was slightly over-weight! At only 3 years old, she was definitely headed for trouble. So I looked at other RC products and found this one. I began mixing the RC Siamese roughly half-and-half with the RC Indoor Light. (I keep the dry food available constantly. My breeder fed RC "on demand" and I just followed her lead.)

Well, one year later, she had actually lost 4 ounces!!! She has a few more to go, but at least she isn't gaining, and the food works for both my normal weight cat and my "cuddly kittie".

No matter what breed of cat you have - pedigree or mixed - Royal Canin products are THE BEST!!!

My cat loved the Indoor Light 40 Dry Food. I just bought the replacement: Light. Only problem is that the new formula has more calories and less protein. Doesn't seem like a good trade off. Can anyone out explain why the formula was changed to not as optimal combination? I love Royal Canin and the Indoor Light 40, but the stores no longer sell it and the "Light - 33% less" is the replacement. I'm afraid my cat will gain weight. Since there is no alternative, except vet ordered RC food, I will give it a try and see what happens.

The second ingredient is CORN. I didn't know that cats were meant to eat corn... I have an overweight cat and I'm hoping this food is helps with weight issues, but I'm not impressed with the ingredients.

Cats love it and it is good quality

Comments about Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Indoor Light 40 Dry Cat Food:

I have been feeding my cats this for a few years. One cat has a sensitive stomach and this is the only brand he seems to be able to handle well. I start off their morning with one tablespoon of Royal Canin Indoor Intense Hairball food so that I don't have to give them any other hairball remedies and then 30 minutes later I give them their daily portion of the Light food.

My kitty, Contessa is a big eater but also a picky one. I solved both problems with this dry food. She loves the taste and is getting fewer calories. It's a win-win!
