Product Details

There is a right way and a wrong way for large breed dogs to lose weight. Merely cutting down on portions can mean loss of both nutrition and muscle tone. To lose weight correctly, a large breed dog must stimulate the use of its fat reserves. A high protein, reduced fat diet allows for mobilization of energy reserves without reducing muscle tone. Royal Canin Maxi Weight Care 27 Large Breed Dry Dog Food is made with a specially tailored lower density kibble, with natural flavors and aromas, helping to ensure that your pet will enjoy meal time and feel fuller, longer. This provides more of an opportunity to achieve optimal body weight. Joints of a large breed dog receive a lot of pressure. Glucosamine and chondroitin help to protect the joints; omega 3 essential fatty acids from anchovy oil help limit inflammation there. A well-balanced, low energy food, Royal Canin Maxi Weight Care 27 Large Breed Dry Dog Food contains all the nutrients a dog needs, such as essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, despite restricted calories. It is for large breed dogs (56 to 100 pounds,) from 15 months to five years of age, who are prone to obesity.

Fat lab finally losing weight!

By Vet with a fat lab

Comments about Royal Canin Maxi Weight Care Formula Dry Dog Food:

I tried other good brands (Hill's, Purina, Iams). Without reaching for the more pricey veterinary therapeutic diets, this was the first dog food that started showing results. We cut out dog treats and increased exercise. Royal Canin was the first dog food where we followed the labeled recommendations and saw results. My fat girl has been successfully losing about 1% of her body weight per week. This is excellent, healthy weight loss. I am her veterinarian, and I now recommend this regimen to clients struggling with weight loss for their pets. We are excited to watch her return to her old, extremely energetic self! Yes, Royal Canin is a more expensive dog brand, but my dog's health is worth these results. Royal Canin is clearly doing their research to create dog foods for specific needs of individual pets.
