My dog has allergies to who knows what. So I switched his food to this exact brand and changed his shampoo and conditioner to tea tree oil and it cured everything! He used to have a rash and it is now gone. This brand also has a 5 star rating from dogfoodadvisor.com it's a place where they really break down what's in your pets food! I highly recommend and my dog loves it. I switched to Wellness and I can tell there's no enthusiasm for him to eat it and I know he doesn't like it. I will be a forever Merrick Dog Food Brand buyer!

I have a pug dog that loves your canned foods and one pug dog that has severe allergies. The allergic one loved this food. However, your formulas have multiple proteins in them when I check all the ingredients. Why does it have to have salmon or turkey and chicken if the formula is Buffalo? Buffalo is one of the only proteins she can eat. My dog loved the taste but never stopped itching and after allergy testing, she can't have chicken, or any poultry, lamb or fish, (no fish oil either). So sad I have to switch. Wish you had a Limited ingredient formula for pets who can't eat multiple proteins. I still would recommend this food as it is a good quality food.

WOW - Excellent Dog Food

By BethK

from Bristol, TN, United States

Comments about Merrick Grain Free Real Chicken & Sweet Potato Recipe Dry Dog Food:

I chose Merrick based on a 5 star rating with Dog Food Advisor, a neutral group of people who review and rate dog food for consumers. I was looking mainly for a dog food to supplement with the raw diet I was feeding my 14 year old hound (Harvey) with lymphoma and my daughter's pitbull mix (Ro) who has immune-mediated poly-arthritis and is allergic to nearly every food we've tried. Things I've noticed with all 5 of our dogs, their coats look amazing. The most significant change has been that my picky elderly hound prefers to eat Merrick over his raw food. I have to mix his raw with the dry food. This food has also helped his digestive issues as a result of his illness and treatment. Harvey, with the addition of Merrick food to his diet, no longer has to take medicine to help with his runny stool. I've also noticed an increase in his energy level. Harvey just seems to feel better in general. Ro is also doing great. He's a little over weight from his steroids but we're seeing good progress with getting him to a healthier weight and this food doesn't upset his allergies. Wow...what a difference good food makes. =)

Cancer Survivor - best option

By AnneMarie

from Grand Rapids, MI, United States

Comments about Merrick Grain Free Real Chicken & Sweet Potato Recipe Dry Dog Food:

We have twin 7-yr old Goldens. One of them is a cancer survivor, and when he was diagnosed, I went in search of the best food to give him the nutritional support he needed during and after chemotherapy. After a great deal of reading, I chose Merrick and he and his brother love it! His brother waits for the bag to be opened when it arrives.... they are both strong, happy, and healthy today - and we credit a little luck, a lot of loving veterinary care, and excellent nutrition.

Grain Free and Not Loaded with Legumes!!

By DenverDani

from Denver, CO, United States

Comments about Merrick Grain Free Real Chicken & Sweet Potato Recipe Dry Dog Food:

I wanted to feed my dog a grain free kibble, but other brands were loaded with pea and chickpea protein, and many had kidney beans and navy beans too, which gave my dog gastro-intestinal issues. These Grain free recipes have been awesome! My dog loves the food, and can tolerate the ingredients, and I feel like I'm feeding her a good quality food. PLEASE DON'T CHANGE YOUR RECIPE MERRICK - LOVE THIS LINE !!!!

Solved a Loose Stool Issue!

By vreutt

from Syracuse, NY, United States

Comments about Merrick Grain Free Real Chicken & Sweet Potato Recipe Dry Dog Food:

A chronic loose stool problem has plagued us since Piper was a pup. After eliminating other causes, we introduced new food gradually. After a few tries, Merrick grain-free chicken has solved the problem - hopefully for good. I'm starting to see a shinier coat, as I'm sure she was losing nutrients and water previously.

Best dog food for our corgi!

By Sigal Rosenblit

from Jerusalem, Israel

Comments about Merrick Grain Free Real Chicken & Sweet Potato Recipe Dry Dog Food:

We buy our corgi the Real Duck kibbles and cans and she loves it. it's the perfect food for a growing corger, filled with everything good, and a notch above any other dog food we used. the care and thought put into it are evident. There's only one store here in Jerusalem that carries this brand, and those "in the know" keep coming back for their Merrick supply.
