packaging

Comments about Vetericyn HydroGel OTC Spray:

My rating is related to my review. I like the Vetericyn product, but the packaging could use some improving. As a cost conscious horse owner, not all of the liquid gets used before the pump isn't able to spray anymore, and you can't unscrew the cap to pour what's left into the new bottle.

A must in every tack room

By Bwperk

Comments about Vetericyn HydroGel OTC Spray:

Spring of 2014, my mare got caught in a fence and literally peeled the skin down her right fore leg. The vet cleaned it out and told me there was nothing they could do. I was welcome try to treat it as an open wound. My dad told me about Vetericyn so I thought I would give it a try. After 6 weeks I had to cut off the proud flex, and within another couple of weeks it was completely healed.

Vetericyn Gel - Wire damage - Equine

By Rory

from Tipperary, Ireland

Comments about Vetericyn HydroGel OTC Spray:

Brood mare, in foal, puts her off front over barbed wire (the stuff should be banned) then pulling back and doing serious and deep tissue damage to the pastern, extensive swelling and loosing part of the hoof heal. Initial tourniquet below at the knee and direct injection of antibiotics into the vain along the canon for 20 minutes. As the mare was in foal these were the only antibiotics given and also very little pain relief given for same reason. Wound washed twice a day with tap water, for 10 minutes each time, and then the application of Vetericyn Wound & Skin Care Hydrogel after each wash. No dressings. Improvement was understandably slow, but progressive (see images) reflecting the serious and complexity of the injury. Final result excellent, especially acceptable for a non-competition mare, no lameness, no fly issues (it was summer time), mare foaled successfully and went back into foal.
