Renowned artist, Mercedes Rivera, combines her love for pets and passion for pottery creating a variety of abstract cat and dog sculptures, treat jars, and a line of sports jars, bowls and business card holders under the MPP Sports brand. A native of Puerto Rico, Mercedes opened her New Mexico galleries, Native Art and The Pottery Studio, exhibiting her pottery that reflects both a traditional and contemporary influence while developing a variety of shapes and sizes that carry their own personality. Mercedes, known for her creativity and perfectionism, conducted workshops at several Community Colleges throughout the United States as well as at her galleries, providing instruction for people from all over the country. After a brief sabbatical and relocating to Florida in 2007, Mercedes brings her diverse touch of art to the pet and sports worlds.
