Comments about Nature's Variety Instinct Grain Free Limited Ingredient Diet Turkey Formula Canned Cat Food:

My 14-year-old has had IBD for some years now. It's grown worse as he's gotten older and admittedly, it's been difficult to treat. Initially, he was just incapable of eating dry food - it literally made him upchuck 30 minutes after eating - this soon evolved into him not being able to digest the basic supermarket brands - Iams, Fancy Feast, etc. The protein source was not the issue, as he would have the same reaction to Tuna, Chicken, Lamb, etc. He is also very picky about the protein sources he will and won't eat. He has ALWAYS refused beef and salmon, and even foods like duck and rabbit don't interest him much. He's a turkey guy through and through. In the process I've tried a variety of different brands - Wellness, Evo, Halo, even raw pellets (which he outright refused)... and yes, even tried Nature's Variety rabbit and duck versions (which he just didn't like)

Anyway fast forward to now and he's got hyperthyroidism (which caused him to lose 5lbs), IBD, a heart murmur, and arthritis. None of these is life threatening, but make living a bit uncomfortable. After soldiering through trial periods of both Science Diet i/d and y/d (which is a hyperthyroidism food) he was not gaining weight and was looking a little rough around the edges. I decided to give Nature's Variety limited ingredient a try again, since I think his problem stems from grain. This time, I thought it best to stick with the food he likes best: turkey. He's been on it for a week. And so far has literally devoured every meal, every day and actually begs for more. (This has not been the case for years) Even better. he hasn't been vomiting at all. To be fair, when he first started the food, his BM was very loose, but within the past day or two it has firmed up considerably. And if all goes the way it's been going, I'm feeling very hopeful that we've found something he enjoys and will make him a happier and healthier cat.

Comments about Nature's Variety Instinct Grain Free Limited Ingredient Diet Turkey Formula Canned Cat Food:

We started on this after our 14 year old indoor cat had pancreatitis - and it completely turned his health around. His coat is sleek, he's slimmed down and he has so much energy. It's a fantastic food- doesn't smell in the same way that other brands do. And while it's more expensive, it's hard to argue with the quality.
