With owning several cats of all ages I have tried so many veterinary diet foods in the past for one reason or another. Not one of them did they like until now. I dread it when the vet suggest a certain vet food because I know they will end up not eating it. Well not with this food. My cat loved it. It really helped with his condition which was chronic diarrhea. Although it is for diabetic cats my vets suggested it after attending a seminar on the subject. My cat had lost so much weight and was looking awful. After a couple of weeks on this food he gained a whole lb. and his stool hardened up and his fur got soft again. Will continue to purchase it.

my two cats have been on the dm dry and both of the dm wet for about 2 years and their has not been much of a change in their weight. one is a grey tabby and the other is a orange tabby, who is also a diabetic. both had weight problems. they are both 7 years old and are brothers. our vet suggested this type for both. the diabetic was losing weight and the other one was over weight.the diabetic is staying at about14 to 15 lbs.the other cat is between 20 to 22 lbs. which our vet said is too much weight.they each split one cup in the am of the dry,and split a half a cup of dry for lunch , and split one can of the wet for supper.why does it seem the one cat cannot seem to lose weight? the vet said it is a slow process, but being on it for 2 years I would expect better reusts then we are getting I would appreiciate if you might be able to comment on this or if we are doing something wrong. are vet seems to think what we are doing should be helping. also the price increase has made it more difficult to be able to afford it! the dm feline10lb. bag went from $41.67 to $54.39. and the dm feline 5.5 oz. cans went from$34.80 to $45.59.I also noticed the new packaging, but cannot justify the increase for that. there was nothing wrong with the old one.I hope to hear from you in regards to both things I have brought to your attention. Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets DM Dietetic Management Feline Formula Dry Food:

While the vet says this is the was to go for my diabetic cat, my cat will not eat this food by itself without a lot of prompting. He has to be starving and still will only eat a few bites or it has to be mixed with his canned food. Even then, he will not eat all of the dry food. (It is not due to the amount of food given to him. He is still hungry.)

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets DM Dietetic Management Feline Formula Dry Food:

My little spoiled female cat is not diabetic, but we had a diabetic Maine Coon and we put him on it, per Vet's recommendation. He has since passed, but my Prissy loved it and I cannot find a vendor in Las Vegas that sells the product and she misses it terribly. I will now order the DM product through the mail.
