With owning several cats of all ages I have tried so many veterinary diet foods in the past for one reason or another. Not one of them did they like until now. I dread it when the vet suggest a certain vet food because I know they will end up not eating it. Well not with this food. My cat loved it. It really helped with his condition which was chronic diarrhea. Although it is for diabetic cats my vets suggested it after attending a seminar on the subject. My cat had lost so much weight and was looking awful. After a couple of weeks on this food he gained a whole lb. and his stool hardened up and his fur got soft again. Will continue to purchase it.

my two cats have been on the dm dry and both of the dm wet for about 2 years and their has not been much of a change in their weight. one is a grey tabby and the other is a orange tabby, who is also a diabetic. both had weight problems. they are both 7 years old and are brothers. our vet suggested this type for both. the diabetic was losing weight and the other one was over weight.the diabetic is staying at about14 to 15 lbs.the other cat is between 20 to 22 lbs. which our vet said is too much weight.they each split one cup in the am of the dry,and split a half a cup of dry for lunch , and split one can of the wet for supper.why does it seem the one cat cannot seem to lose weight? the vet said it is a slow process, but being on it for 2 years I would expect better reusts then we are getting I would appreiciate if you might be able to comment on this or if we are doing something wrong. are vet seems to think what we are doing should be helping. also the price increase has made it more difficult to be able to afford it! the dm feline10lb. bag went from $41.67 to $54.39. and the dm feline 5.5 oz. cans went from$34.80 to $45.59.I also noticed the new packaging, but cannot justify the increase for that. there was nothing wrong with the old one.I hope to hear from you in regards to both things I have brought to your attention. My cat is 15 years old and diabetic, so he needs a special vet diet. I've tried many of these, but he won't eat most of them. This one he likes. In fact, he prefers this over most other foods. If you have a finicky cat, give this one a try!

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets DM Dietetic Management Feline Formula Dry Food:

Our now 15 year old cat was diagnosed with diabetes last year. Since he has been on the DM diet he has maintained his blood sugar and done GREAT! I'm so glad our vet prescribed it. It is pricey, but having a pet this long is like having another child!...so you do what you have to do!! Ordering is easy and Pet Firect is very efficient. Thanks!

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets DM Dietetic Management Feline Formula Dry Food:

This food has been helpful, in conjunction with twice daily insulin, in keeping our cat's blood glucose levels under control. He has a preference for dry food, and the store bought bag was too high in carbs for his little body. DM is pricey, but worth it for kitty's health!

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets DM Dietetic Management Feline Formula Dry Food:

One of my three girls is borderline diabetic. I was told to feed her this dry food by my vet. Her blood sugar has stabilized, which is fantastic. I have two other cats who have no issues with blood sugar, but they eat it, too, and one of them is extremely picky, and allergic to many artificial colors. This doesn't bother her sensitive stomach at all. I am very pleased. It isn't cheap, but it is cheaper than insulin shots!
