This food works great for my cocker spaniel. She was on Hill's d/d Potato & Salmon, which is great also but ran me 90 for a 25 lb bag. We had trouble in the past finding a food that wouldn't make her allergies flare up. I am so thankful to final find a quality food at a resonable price. Our two other dogs would rather eat her food it's much more tasty.

I used this dog food when I ran out of my regular allergen free Duck and Potato dog food by another company. My dog has allergies and was placed on duck and potato because she is allergic to chicken and other things. Shiloh liked Natural Balance alot. Had no problems with her stools, no stomach upset. However, after 3 days of this allergen free potato and duck dog food, Shiloh was scratching again like crazy. I compared the canned dog food ingredients and the Natural Balance had more ingredients in it than her old dog food. My allergen free dog food for the most part was just duck and potato. I will say Shiloh was able to eat the potato and duck treats by Natural Balance because they just had duck potato, molasses, natural flavor, mixed tocopherols, and citric acid. The canned dog food and the dry have many more. So I suspect there is something in this food to which Shiloh is allergic as well. I won't be buying anything but the treats for her.

I was hoping for a variety in food for my German Shepherd but this one didn't work. She didn't like it and it has a very fish smell. We live in a hot climate and that fish smell is more pronounced sitting in her doggie dish.

Comments about Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diet Sweet Potato and Fish Formula Dry Dog Food:

I fed my 3 dogs ( pitbull, king charles, and beagle) the L.I.D. lamb and brown rice dry dog food for years. I recently bought a new bag and all 3 dogs soon came down with horrible cases of diarrhea. I stopped feeding them the dry food and fed them boiled chicken. The diarrhea went away. A couple days later I slowly began adding the dry food back in to their diet and the diarrhea returned almost immediately, worse than it was before. Again, I stopped feeding them this food and switched to boiled chicken. Again, the diarrhea went away. I switched to a different brand of limited ingredient dog food and began adding that to their diet. The diarrhea did not return. I will never buy this brand of dog food again.
