We have a dear little Norwich Terrior named Monti. When he was a puppy he developed urinary crystals which caused him painful urination we noticed it because he was having accidents in the house from holding his urine for long periods of time. Since starting this diet he no longer suffers from crystals. Within a few days of feeding him anything but this, for instance if he has too many treats or dental nuggets we have found he quickly develops crystals and has urinary issues so we keep him away for any other foods.

It is a RX product so not much choice of using it. It certainly has taken care of the crystal issue and much cheaper than surgery for my little Bishon. I have 2 dogs that are each on a RX diet with
crystals. I alternate between buying at the vet and using Pet Food Direct. I'm not always happy with the delivery of Pet Food Direct. Sometimes it takes 1 day and other times it takes a week and I get an e-mail that they are checking with the vet Why? Its a lifetime RX so they should look at the protocol for doing this. Overall pricing is about average-expensive no matter what.

Has been effective in preventing recurrence of bladder stones in my male Bichon Frise. Sometimes use the moderate calorie formula if I notice that he's beefing up.

Dogs love it, they drink more water than when eating other brands of dog food which makes them clear their bladder more often.

No more Accidents or Lawn Brown Spots

    By holdie

    from Wichita, KS, United States

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Dog Food:

Noticed my yard had brown spots in March. My dog wet my bed and had accidents frequently too through out the home. She was so embarrassed and would hide. Poor baby. Vet recommended Urinary SO for her Struvite crystals. My dog Carly has been on it for 3 months and all problems gone. I decided since she was doing so well I could switch her to the same dog food my other dog uses. WRONG! In a matter of days she wet the bed and hid and my grass had brown spots again. Carly is on Royal Canin Urinary SO for life. My vet informed me more severe complications would occur if I took her off this food again. Thanks goodness for Royal Canin

My dog developed crystals after being on a month of TMS, after putting him on the SO diet all the crystals have dissolved! He will be on this food for life but as long as it ensures a happy, healthy dog I am ok with that!

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Dog Food:

My dog used to suffer from bladder stones. Couple of years ago she had a surgery for the same issue. I am so glad that she is eating this food because after it, she has never suffered from the stones anymore.
