when he was done with his first ever serving of the Backcountry type of puppy food!! I had him on the Merrick grain free puppy food prior to the Backcountry. I read up on it and wanted to try it out and see how he liked it. Boy did he ever like it. I thought he was going to choke due to him eating so fast. I have been extremely impressed with the Merrick product lines. To the Merrick folks reading this review, PLEASE don't EVER change just for the sake of changing unless it is to improve/get better!! Keep up the good work!

Will never not feed my dog Merrick.

By Ella23

Comments about Merrick Backcountry Grain Free Raw Infused Puppy Recipe Dry Dog Food:

I have a 5 month old puppy. When I got her, she had been previously fed Purina Puppy Chow. I noticed that she was making gross, runny, rancid eliminations. She was lethargic, not really active or energetic like a puppy should be, and she shivered a lot, which of course can be indicative that they don't feel well. I decided to switch her to Merrick Backcountry Raw Infused Puppy food at a friend's recommendation. For the first couple of days, I noticed a little bit of a change in her eliminations, and not so much her mood or energy levels. Around day five, I said "screw it" and started feeding her exclusively Merrick, and once she got the purina puppy poison out of her system, she was an entirely different dog. Because Merrick is such good food, anything else that I give her makes her ill (like someone who eats well and occasionally eats fast food, their body is just not used to eating poorly), so we're very vigilant that she gets nothing that contains wheat; her only treats are dehydrated meats, freeze-dried raw cubes, and grass-fed bully sticks. Additionally, her breed is known for having dry skin and dull coats, but her coat shines and gets remarked on all of the time for bing so nice. Thank you Merrick, for making and keeping my dog healthy!

What a Difference in skin & coat plus healthy

Comments about Merrick Backcountry Grain Free Raw Infused Puppy Recipe Dry Dog Food:

Got a 9 week old rescue dog with menge and dandruff and soft stool. Learned about feeding her a raw diet but don't have the time to do that. Was told about Backcountry Raw Infused, that it was as close to raw without doing 100% raw. In 2 weeks, her coat was shiny, no more dandruff, skin cleared of parasites and has a regular stool. Took her to the vet for her last shots and the vet called the rescue and wanted to know what she was being fed, he couldn't believe the difference in her. I am now feeding backcountry raw infused to my cat. Thank you

It's good...but surprisingly...

My dog doesn't like the raw dried frozen bits. I'm on the second bag and she seems to not care much for those pieces only if mixed with canned food.

Best puppy food!

Comments about Merrick Backcountry Grain Free Raw Infused Puppy Recipe Dry Dog Food:

Our chocolate lab (Bear) is now 9 months old. When we first got him he was on a very popular brand of food that seems to be pushed by a lot of veterinarians. He would hardly eat any of his food and suffered from a lot of digestive issues. We decided to look for a better puppy food and decided on Merrick Back Country Raw Infused for puppies. It was the best decision we could have made. Bear ate his first bowl in minutes. He has no more digestive issues, has tons of energy and his coat looks super healthy and shiny.

My boy can't get enough!

Comments about Merrick Backcountry Grain Free Raw Infused Puppy Recipe Dry Dog Food:

We wanted to switch our 11 week old blue nose pitbull to excellent food because they tend to have sensitive skin. After recommendations from other Merrick users we have it a try and WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID! He cries when it's meal time because he is so excited! He loves it! I can already see a change in his coat, and it's been 2 days.
