If this product expensive? Yes....but you get what you pay for. Knowing you can feed this product and not have to worry about your cat developing more urinary tract issues is: PRICELESS! I spent $1700 in vet bills before I found this product. There are others that claim to be sensitive to the needs of cats with urinary tract issues but don't do any better at preventing problems that any other ordinary food. This product actually does what it promises, no ifs ands or buts! Terrific product and my picky eater car loves it!

The only good thing I can say about this food is that my cat hasn't gotten bladder stones again since he's been eating it. He needed two surgeries in 2010 to get rid of the oxalate stones. Nothing will dissolve these stones, so they need to be prevented at all costs. I know this food is garbage because his coat is dull, he has dandruff, and he pukes up the food regularly. However, the stones are life-threatening and as long as they don't come back, I'll keep buying this expensive garbage food. I would only recommend this as a last resort if you cat has recurring oxalate stones. Otherwise, it is garbage and I truly feel bad that I have to feed it to my cat.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

First used after urinary tract infection, but vet said a good maintenance diet too - very good overall diet, and would help prevent future infections. Our two indoor kitties (12 and 14 years old) absolutely love it, even though that's all they eat, morning and evening. Haven't had any more bouts of urinary tract trouble since started using. And both cats are so healthy, active, and with great coats.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

I started using this product at my vet' s recommendation for a young cat with urinary problems. As I have 3 other cats, both inside and outside, I asked if it would be o k for the other cats also.
The vet said it should be fine for all, so I' ve been using it ever since, for about 6 years. They all love it, and it seems to be a healthy diet for them. I wish it were not so expensive, but the convenience of having it delivered makes it attractive.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

My cat almost died from a urinary tract blockage. He was at the vet with a catheter for a few weeks. $$$$! Once he was better I started feeding him Royal Canin Urinary SO for cats. He does not like the canned food but he loves the dried food. He has not had a recurrence for about 3 years since I have been feeding him the dry food. My other cats eat it too. The negatives are it is expensive and the cats also tend to gain weight on it.
