If this product expensive? Yes....but you get what you pay for. Knowing you can feed this product and not have to worry about your cat developing more urinary tract issues is: PRICELESS! I spent $1700 in vet bills before I found this product. There are others that claim to be sensitive to the needs of cats with urinary tract issues but don't do any better at preventing problems that any other ordinary food. This product actually does what it promises, no ifs ands or buts! Terrific product and my picky eater car loves it!

The only good thing I can say about this food is that my cat hasn't gotten bladder stones again since he's been eating it. He needed two surgeries in 2010 to get rid of the oxalate stones. Nothing will dissolve these stones, so they need to be prevented at all costs. I know this food is garbage because his coat is dull, he has dandruff, and he pukes up the food regularly. However, the stones are life-threatening and as long as they don't come back, I'll keep buying this expensive garbage food. I would only recommend this as a last resort if you cat has recurring oxalate stones. Otherwise, it is garbage and I truly feel bad that I have to feed it to my cat.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

My cat who has Feline Urological Syndrome must have special food for this condition, and he loves it. Unfortunately he is now overweight. My other cats would have this exclusively also, if they could, but it is only for my one cat.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

My kitty who has had several bouts with bladder stones was put prescribed this food by her vet. For a Rx diet it is pretty good. She likes the taste and she hasn't had any stones since we switched her to eating this and the companion wet food. I wish the ingredients were a little better - I like to know exactly what my cat is eating. I would switch to a higher quality and all-natural food if a company like weruva or merrick offered one for kitties with bladder stone issues, but for now, this one works.

One of my girls developed bladder stones, which cased a bladder infection, which caused her to start spraying (she is spayed), which is the only way I found out she was sick (cats are symptom-hiders. My vet treated the infection but said the only cure for the stones was this food. I've had her on it for months and she's never had another problems. It's expensive, but must less so than vet bills!
