If this product expensive? Yes....but you get what you pay for. Knowing you can feed this product and not have to worry about your cat developing more urinary tract issues is: PRICELESS! I spent $1700 in vet bills before I found this product. There are others that claim to be sensitive to the needs of cats with urinary tract issues but don't do any better at preventing problems that any other ordinary food. This product actually does what it promises, no ifs ands or buts! Terrific product and my picky eater car loves it!

The only good thing I can say about this food is that my cat hasn't gotten bladder stones again since he's been eating it. He needed two surgeries in 2010 to get rid of the oxalate stones. Nothing will dissolve these stones, so they need to be prevented at all costs. I know this food is garbage because his coat is dull, he has dandruff, and he pukes up the food regularly. However, the stones are life-threatening and as long as they don't come back, I'll keep buying this expensive garbage food. I would only recommend this as a last resort if you cat has recurring oxalate stones. Otherwise, it is garbage and I truly feel bad that I have to feed it to my cat.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

My cat almost died due to a urinary blockage. The vet saved his life and then suggested Royal Canin SO. My cat has eaten the dry food for the last 4 years and he is doing well. He doesn't like the canned food. Although the food is a bit expensive, it is worth it for my sweet kitty.

It's beyond my comprehension how a vet who purports to be knowledgeable about animal health could recommend this food.

Our male & female cats eat this dry food. Two of our girl cats eat the Moderate Calorie Urinary S/O. Very good results.

The vet recommended this to us for our cat since she had had 3 bouts of problems with her bladder in 2 years. She is an older cat and on this food she gained strength and had a better mood. She does urinate a lot and drinks lots of water, just like the package says.

Even the picky cat loves it

    By crzecatlayde

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

I have an older male cat, Merlin, that has had two serious bouts with crystals in his urine, so he is a lifer on the SO products. I also have a super picky female cat that turned her nose up at her old food (a high quality brand no less) and will only eat the SO now! The newest cat in the family was raised on SO; she wouldn't eat the kitten food that was offered.
