StarMark Dog Training Collar

$13.99

Product Details

The StarMark Collar's patented design enhances communication between you and your dog. This collar provides gentle control and offers a great looking design. It works well for dogs that constantly pull on the leash and makes obedience training a snap. The link design fits together, producing a watchband pattern that any dog would be proud to wear. This also makes it easy to remove links as needed, or use Add-A-Link to quickly lengthen the collar for a perfect fit.
How do I fit the StarMark Collar
Proper fit is essential for the StarMark Collar to work properly. Before fitting the StarMark Collar on your dog, practice taking the collar apart by unsnapping and snapping the links together. You may snap or unsnap the collar at any link. Additional links (Add-A-Link) may be purchased separately, which allows the StarMark Collar to be used on the largest of dogs.

To unfasten the collar, use your thumb and forefinger to angle the links, and then unsnap them using a firm left-to-right rocking motion. To fasten the collar, angle the links, and then snap them together using a firm left-to-right rocking motion.

To fit the StarMark Collar to your dog, unfasten the collar and approach your dog. Angle the links and then snap them together around your dog's neck by using a firm left-to-right rocking motion. Ensure that both hooks are set firmly on the bars. The collar should fit snug and high around your dog's neck. This is especially important for long-haired dogs. Add or remove links as needed to ensure proper fit. If your collar is too loose, it may not be as effective, and you run the risk of the collar getting caught up on something or twisting and popping off the dog. Position the collar so the cord rests at the top of your dog's neck. Attach the end of your leash to the -ring swivel.

To remove the StarMark Collar, have your dog sit, and then unsnap the StarMark Collar at any link. Angle the links and unsnap, using a firm left-to-right rocking motion. Do not attempt to slip the collar over your dog's head. Watch the video lesson, Fitting the StarMark Collar for additional guidance.

StarMark Collar vs. metal pinch collar:
Made of metal, the traditional pinch collar has a much more menacing look than the StarMark Collar. The metal can rust, which will stain the hair on a light colored dog, or can rub the hair off the neck area.

Comments about StarMark Dog Training Collar:

My 75 lb boxer is on the adjunct staff of my cardiologist. His job is to walk me, hard, every day, 30-45 min. I have osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis as well as heart issues. When I used the training collar for the first time, it was like magic. Those plastic teeth work perfectly. Before, the dog usually behaved, but a nearby squirrel, or another dog, could be too much temptation to pull. Now, the gentlest tug and the usual "Leave it" command keep us walking like pros.
I have little trouble disconnecting the links, but really, folks, surely you can add large tips to the cord ends instead of permanently joining them to a ring: one tip is the leash loop and male connector; the other is the female connector and release button. How hard is that? Connected, the collar fits with proper snugness after the owner adds or removes links. Disconnected, the collar opens so far it will slip over the dog's head and ears with ease. No more complaints from owners of impatient, wiggly dogs.
Sure, this would add a dollar or five to the price. Big deal. Ease of use would be worth it. For this design advice, please send me the first one!

Comments about StarMark Dog Training Collar:

I was introduced to this collar by a dog trainer. I still use it . I noticed that this is the choice of dog training schools. The collar links may be difficult to size at first, and it took the help of dog trainer to showed me how to adjust it, and take it off my dog. Better than a harness or any other type of training collars

Comments about StarMark Dog Training Collar:

I meant to order the add-a -link collar but received only the links. I was charged shipping for the wrong product and then shipping again for the correct product. Sure I was offered a 10% discount on the correct product but it did not come close to covering the cost of double shipping and that I have no need for links to the collar, The rep suggested I donate the links, which is, of course, what I will do, But I would have preferred not paying twice the price just because the product name sounded like I was actually going to get the entire collar at first. I would have preferred the you take back the wrong product or at least not charge for shipping the second time.

Comments about StarMark Dog Training Collar:

The collar was too small for my dog, even though it should have fit from the item's description. The links were difficult to open and close and showed some bending after only a few attempts. Get the collar with the easy clip closure. It's worth the extra money. I would not reccommend this item.

Comments about StarMark Dog Training Collar:

As a dog trainer, I think this is one of the best products we have. When fitted properly, and seated high on the dog's neck, you can eliminate pulling without causing harm to you or the dog.
