Our vet noticed slightly elevated kidney enzyme levels, the last time we took in our cat. She promptly prescribed Hill's Prescription Diet k/d dry and wet food. Our cat took to it easily... Heck, she devoured it!

She genuinely seems to enjoy it more than her previous brands of dry and wet catfood. We've been feeding her Hill's k/d exclusively, and she has yet to tire of it. Her stool is consistent, she's still very energetic & pleasant, her coat is shiny and plush, and her teeth stay nice and clean. The only negative, from my perspective, is that the dry food stinks really bad. I have to hold my breath during, and scrub my hands after feeding. However, from my cat's perspective, it's great. If the sound of the bag doesn't rouse her, the smell seems to wake her right up.

Upon our most recent visit, the our vet indicated that her kidney enzyme levels have improved slightly, and her health is as good as ever, which is a sign that Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Feline Dry Food is the good stuff.

My kitties like the taste -- that, and the hook-and-loop "zip" closure on the bag -- are the best I can say for this food. I hate the hard chunks of kibble. Hard for feline teeth to chew -- they're not horses! The bag is strong -- has to be, it has to last a long time -- 8 lbs. is way more than I usually buy in dry food. I also hate your website -- print is too small to read easily, the pictures are so tiny the print is illegible, why don't you have a maximize feature like other websites? I only hope this is the same food I'm feeding (chicken) your description doesn't say, and the picture is too tiny to read. Your search feature doesn't work well, either, I put in a specific search term but instead of being taken right to the product, it only took me to the general cat section. NOT the way a search feature should work!

Used to be wonderful

By Goldenacres

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Feline Renal Health Dry Food:

We have been using Science Diet KD formula dry food for our oldest cat who has kidney issues for about 4 years now. His kidney levels remain good. Now, all of a sudden we noticed a difference in the appearance of the cat food...it is lighter in color, and none of our cats seems to like it at all. They used to eat it eagerly. Now they seem to be avoiding the food. What in the world did you do to it? We will be looking for some kind of an alternative food to feed them...we can't have them not eating!

Cat Won't Eat "Improved Formula"

By 5cats

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Feline Renal Health Dry Food:

My cat used to love the Hill's Prescription Diet k/d with Chicken dry cat food. My other cats loved it, too, and would eat her leftovers. However, the last bag that I bought said "improved formula". When I poured some into her bowl, I noticed that the food looked different and was a little "oranger" in color than before. Now she won't eat it, and my other cats won't touch it either. Please go back to the "old" formula.
