My male Maine Coon cat had crystals about 3 years ago, went into kidney failure and almost died. The vest prescribed Hill's C/D and he's been eating it ever since. He likes it, and has had no recurrences. The vet said it was okay to feed C/D to our other two male cats, one of whom has medium black hair and we've noticed a change in his coat since he's been eating C/D. His coat is beautiful now! Two of our cats love C/D canned, but the one who had crystals will only eat the dry food. Go figure!

My cat likes it, he runs to his fish when I feed him, but it can be very expensive...almost double wheat non-prescription kibble would be.

My cats have been on this for years and have recently begun throwing up immediately after eating it. I've seen several comments online about cats throwing up due to the fat content and it seems to be a recent change. I'm frustrated, since there aren't many other options for prescription diets. I'm probably going to try Royal Canin, although I'm not sure it's any better.
