Product Details

Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Senior Cat Litter is specifically designed to help older cats use the litter box. Cats prefer the smaller particle size, making it easier for them to use. This odor control litter absorbs urine on contact and traps it inside crystals to prevent bacteria growth. Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Senior Cat Litter addresses the medical and urinary tract problems that cats experience as they age.

After much research and wrestling a persian to get the clumping litter off her "bikini line" I found this litter and could not be happier. The fine sand texture makes it comfortable on the paws and easier to switch than other large piece silica brands. Do you know there is more clay cat litter in landfills than disposable diapers...this litter biodegrades in 30 days. Silica is a natural mineral but unlike natural litters made from corn , wheat or newspaper, it does not promote or breed bacteria. One 8lb bag lasts one cat about 6-8 weeks, just remove solid waste and be sure to stir the litter daily especially if your cats like to tinkle in the same spot in the box. I have 2 litter boxes, one Booda Dome and one medium size box and can split a bag between the 2 for about 6 weeks to give you an idea on use up rate. Try this, you will love it and so will your furbabies!!!

Living on the top floor of a walk-up building I was glad to find a very light weight litter from a great company like Dr Elsie's. However, this litter is extremely dusty and my cat hated to use the litter box and went on the floor and bathtub instead. Besides that it was annoying for me to avoid the dust. I held my breath every time searching for #1 and #2 if I didn't find any in the tub or on the floor. I am happy to pay someone to carry the litter upstairs and use one of the heavy but literally dust free litters from Dr Elsie. We like the original, R&R and outdoors equally. After switching back to our normal litter he's using his box every time.

This is for my senior kitty that's in renal failure. This is a good litter - no dust, no orders, easy to glean up.

Comments about Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Senior Litter:

I have never had a litter that didn't emit an odor after a few days. This one lasts all month as long as you stir it everyday when you are cleaning the lumps out. I will never go back to the other litter unless this one isn't available anymore. Great stuff!

      Excellent litter for Senior Cats

Comments about Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Senior Litter:

This is the best litter I have ever used for my two 14 year old cats. This doesn't clump but dries out cat waste. I am careful with the dust so if this is a issue
pour litter in box slowly and low in the box and when cleaning try not to create dust.

My one cat has arthritis and has a hard time. Although active they do well with this litter. The price is high but if you keep it clean and read directions it will not
      smell and will last.
