Flea and heartworm free is the way you want your dog to be! Revolution for Dogs 10.1-20 lbs is a monthly preventative that is easy to use in order to provide your dog with protection against fleas, sarcoptic mange mites, ticks, heartworms, and ear mites.
What is Revolution for Dogs? Revolution for Dogs is a topical medication that is applied on your dog’s skin (topically) once a month and absorbed into his/her bloodstream in order to provide protection against canine heartworms, adult fleas, and flea eggs. It also controls and treats ear mites, sarcoptic mange mites, and American dog ticks.
Formulated for: You can apply Revolution for Dogs safely to dogs and puppies that are older than 6 weeks. Pregnant and nursing dogs can also be given Revolution as needed.
How does this medication work? Selamectin is the active ingredient that works to cause a disturbance in nerve transmission resulting in paralysis of the affected parasite’s nervous system. Revolution for Dogs prevents immature canine heartworms (Dirofilaria immitis). It is also kills adult fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) and prevents flea eggs from hatching for one month. Ear mites (Otodectes cynotis), American dog tick infestations, and sarcoptic mange mites can be controlled and treated effectively with this medication.
What results can I expect? Revolution works to kill heartworms in their immature stage preventing the development of adult heartworms that can cause illness in your dog. This medication provides adequate protection against worms that your dog was exposed to in the preceding month. Ear mites in dogs are often eliminated with one treatment in a number but follow-up treatments may be necessary. Sarcoptic mange and American dog tick infestations can be effectively controlled and treated with this product. It is common for fleas to be killed within 36 hours of application but they can sometimes linger for longer periods especially in dogs that were infested with fleas prior to treatment. Your veterinarian will prescribe the correct dose and dosing frequency for your dog so always follow his/her instructions.
