I adopted a kitten off the street. We think she is about 6-8 months old. I started her off on Purina Kitten Chow because I trusted it. A few days later, I mixed some of IAMS kitten food in with her Kitten Chow. Immediately, there was a change in her stools. They became bloody, full of mucus, and smelled worse than the sewer she used to live in. Immediately, I took her to the vet thinking it could be parasites. Her "stools" (I use quotes because they were more mucus and blood than stools) came back clean. I switched her back to just Purina Kitten Chow. Within 24 hours the bleeding stopped and her stools had some form. They were what one might call soft stools. After a few days, her stools became normal firm stools. No bleeding, no issues. From now on, Purina Kitten Chow is the only kitten food I am feeding her.

I fed this food to two of my cats when they were kittens. This was the only kitten food I fed my 4 year old when she was a kitten. She loved it. When she was an adult and we tried to switch her over to adult food slowly, she would pick out the kitten food and leave the adult food. The when we gave her only adult food, she sat and cried. We also have a one year old. We also fed her Purina Kitten chow but mixed it with two other kinds: Royal Cannin, and Purina One. The reason for this is because Purina Kitten Chow is made from By-Products. By products are organ meat and items not allowed by in human's food. The other two foods we fed our now one year old are made from real meat. I will feed my next kitten, Kitten Chow but will also mix it with a better quality food.

I fed every one of my 14 kittens Purina Kitten Formula for the first 18 months of their lives, My nephew is a Vet for the Bronx Zoo in NY NY and he and his practice stand behind ALL of the Purina formulas, They are by far one of the oldest pet food company's and that should tell you all something. I swear by ALL of their formulas.
