I read an analysis of dehydrated foods in THE WHOLE DOG JOURNAL, where I discovered the Honest Kitchen products. I was using canned food mixed with kibble. This is much healthier, with no canning residual issues. Honest Kitchen has several varieties....find the one that meets your dog's nutritional needs for activity and breed. Verve to low activity). Easy to prepare: 1/2 cup warm water to 1/3 cup Verve. Let it sit and rehydrate for about 5 minutes. It's kind of gooey, but smells good & my dog loves it. I feed/mixed with a good quality kibble for variety, this is not overlly expensive. When I calculated the cost it came out about the same as quality canned food by the case. I make up 3 days at a time, feed one, and store the other two for use in the refridge. Easy---healthy---highly recommended

In this line of high priced products it is the most economical. Embark was my first choice for my dog as a puppy but as he began to reach his full size I switched to Verve. It is made with healthy ingrediants and he needed some grain for bulk.

Comments about The Honest Kitchen Verve Dog Food:

Dehydrated food really seems to agree with my dog's system. Since eating Honest Kitchen food she has had little to no stomach or bowel issues. To save some money, I mix dehydrated with a good quality dry food. She is a healthy active dog and her diet helps maintain that.

Comments about The Honest Kitchen Verve Dog Food:

In my experience, The Honest Kitchen is the best food you can give your dog. Yes, it's a pain to mix together. I mix about a weeks worth ahead of time and refriderate it. My dog absolutely loved this food. I saw a huge improvement in his skin and coat and overall energy level. I can't say enough positive things about this food.

Comments about The Honest Kitchen Verve Dog Food:

I like to alternate the Honest Kitchen Embark with the Verve so that there is a rotation of a protein source in my dog's diet. This is easily digestible, transports well, stays fresh, and a great value.
