I have a 14 year old Boston Terrier, and he started dropping weight and started to have GI issues. Bad GI issues! He would be fine then would get stomach upsets to the point where I had to put diapers on him! Poor guy! I was trying everything and I was driving my Vets crazy! My poor senior was going in almost every week. I really thought I might be losing the battle to help him. My Vet asked me to try this food and I refused at first did not like the ingredients. Then I stopped and thought hey all the human grade organic bla bla bla stuff is not working, and at the end of the day it's about finding the right food that works! At least for my guy. I finally picked up a bag and he's been on it for a week now, and all I can say is what a difference!,,, it's a miracle! He loves it and since the day I started him on it he has had perfect stool!! Gas has disappeared and he's gained a bit of weight
Fingers crossed that this food keeps working!, and Thx to my Vets who persisted on me to switch to this food! Still don't like the ingredients but it's working. Yes it's expensive but worth every penny! I've spent more on vet bills and fresh food and other high quality foods that didn't work.

Overall Royal Canin had good food choices. My cat was on a prescription diet, and at first enjoyed it but after time did not want to eat it. I did not find the prices to be good, though. In comparison with other food brands and other prescription diets, the prices of Royal Canin are too expensive. They don't offer many promotions or coupons either. Other brands often have specials and offer coupons all the time. I have worked in a veterinary office and know it's a good brand, but I no longer feed any Royal Canin products to my pets.

This food has been a saviour for my Black Lab

By Ivy123

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Fiber Response HF Dry Dog Food:

My dog had issues with his poop almost from the day one. Initially, we thought it must have been because he was still a puppy, but alas. During the first 5 months of his life, we did many vet. tests ( which all turned out just fine) and we bought so many different dogs' food products, some of them we even had to import. Anyhow, we managed to solve a problem with Royal C. Vet - Sensitivity control, but after a year they changed the formula we were at the beginning again. Then we saw online Fibre response ( which we had to import because for some reason this was probably the only kind of Royal's dry food that up until that point they did not import in Serbia) One day on this food and we solved the problem.

He likes it!

By SweetSeniorChihuahuas

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Fiber Response HF Dry Dog Food:

My 10yr old chihuahua has developed chronic diarrhea and fussy eating as a result. It's been a mess around here for the last 10 months to say the least, and vet trips for anti-diarrheals don't treat the chronicity. Yesterday my vet recommended this for the fiber content, and guaranteed the purchase if Woody didn't like it. I barely got the crunchies into the bowl because he was headfirst and eating like a horse! We still had hourly trips outside all thru the night, but after his breakfast 4 hours ago, he's yet to make a non-routine bathroom break. Hesitatantly hopeful, maybe he will eat this consistently and feel better and be able to make actual poops!

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Fiber Response HF Dry Dog Food:

I have a tabby cat that has a very sensitive stomach. I have tried pretty much every brand of cat food and so far he's been doing great on this food. His stool isn't runny anymore and its throwing up either. So happy cat, happy mum.

Fixes chronic soft stool issues

By leam83

from Moscow, ID

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Fiber Response HF Dry Dog Food:

From puppyhood my Australian Shepherd had soft stool. She didn't seem to care, but cleaning up after it was an issue... and I didn't like the idea of what could happen if she had soft stool (not diarrhea) her entire life (i.e., could it eventually affect her health?). After trying several different store bought foods and several varieties of what I feed my other dog (Taste of the Wild, which actually has high fiber levels for dog food), I started mixing in pumpkin. That worked, but was costly and messy (as a puppy she also ate very quickly, so required a slow feeder bowl... putting pumpkin in one gets gross pretty fast). Then I tried metamucil and other fiber powders. They worked OK, but not as well as pumpkin. That's when a vet suggested this food. It works perfectly; completely solved the problem and she even likes eating it. On top of that, feeding her this allows me to still use high value treats (i.e., fatty) when training her for agility without any side effects. So glad to have found it and I'm always telling people about it!

This Food is Amazing!

By Elsas Mom

from Undisclosed

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Fiber Response HF Dry Dog Food:

My 5 year old Rottweiler, Elsa, has been on this food for over a year and a half and she is doing so well. She was having horrible bouts of colitis and we tried many prescription diets but none helped. A representative of Royal Canin suggested this diet and explained the benefits of this particular diet vs. other GI and fiber based therapeutic diets. This food has eliminated Elsa's frequent trips to the veterinary clinic with diarrhea, ...and she loves it!
