Possible Side Effects: Side effects are rare but are always possible when using any pesticide product. Some dogs may experience some temporary irritation at the site of application. If you notice irritation in the spot(s) where Effitix was applied, bathe your dog with mild soap or shampoo and rinse with generous amounts of warm water.
If signs of sensitivity are not resolving or if your dog displays any usual symptoms after an application, contact your veterinarian immediately for further instructions. If your dog has an unusual reaction to the initial application, do not re-apply until you consult with your veterinarian.
Precautions: Do not use Effitix on dogs under 12 weeks of age. Dogs may experience some temporary irritation at the site of product application. Consult with a veterinarian and use Effitix cautiously on medicated, debilitated, aged, pregnant/nursing dogs, or animals known to be sensitive to pesticides.
Drug and Food Interactions: Certain medications can interact with pesticides. Talk to your veterinarian before use if your dog is currently receiving another flea/tick product. Tell your veterinarian about any medications, vitamins, or supplements your dog is taking prior to applying Effitix to makes sure it is safe to apply.
Storage: Store in its original packaging at room temperature away from children and pets.
What is Effitix Topical Solution for Dogs? Effitix is a topical solution that is applied monthly in order to kills and repels ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes. This medication also kills lice, aids in the control of mites, and repels and prevents blood feeding by biting flies.
Effitix Topical Solution for Dogs is formulated for: Dogs who are 12 weeks of age and older.
What are the benefits of Effitix Topical Solution for Dogs? Effitix is a broad-spectrum ectoparasiticide that kills fleas. It also works to kill and repel Brown dog ticks, American dog ticks, and Deer ticks that can cause illness in your dog (ex.Lyme disease). Effitix also kills and repels mosquitoes and lice. It is easy to apply and you only need to apply it to your dog once a month for adequate control. It remains effective even after bathing, water immersion, or exposure to rain or sunlight.
How does Effitix Topical Solution for Dogs work? This topical solution contains Fipronil and Permethrin.
Fipronil acts by causing a disruption in the targeted insects central nervous system(CNS). It blocks GABA channels in the nervous system which causes excitation, convulsions, and eventual paralysis of the affected insect. Permethrin is the other active ingredient in Effitix. It acts by disrupting the normal nerve function of the parasite and results in tremors and incoordination which causes eventual death. Both active ingredients work quickly killing fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and other parasites on your dog efficiently.
What results can I expect? Effitix Topical Solution for Dogs starts killing adult fleas within 6 hours and lasts for one month. One application kills ticks, biting and chewing lice for at least a month. It kills and repels biting flies and mosquitoes for up to 4 weeks(one month). In addition, this medication aids in the control of mites. Results are achieved rapidly. Within 6 hours, 90% of fleas are killed. By 9 days after treatment, at least 98% of 4 species of ticks have been killed.Common Brand Name:Effitix Topical Solution for Dogs (Virbac).
Generic Name: Fipronil plus Permethrin (Common Drug Name).
>Uses:Effitix Topical Solution for Dogs kills and repels ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes. It also works to kill lice and works to control mites. It can also repel and prevent blood feeding by biting flies. This medication is effective against the following ticks: Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor variabilis, Amblyomma americanum, Ixodes scapularis which have the potential to cause illness in your dog.
Dose and Administration: Effitix should be used once a month or as directed. Wait at least 30 days before re-application. Take one applicator out of the packaging immediately prior to use. Hold the applicator with the cap upward and take the cap off. Invert the cap and push it down to break the seal on the tube. Once the tube has been opened, hold your dog and part his/her hair until you can see the skin. The exact placement of medication depends on your dogs body weight. Use the following guidelines to apply Effitix correctly:
Small dogs (up to 22.9 lbs.): Apply the entire contents of the tube on the skin at one site between the shoulder blades.
For medium dogs (23 to 44.9 lbs.) or large dogs (45 to 88.9 lbs.): Distribute Effitix solution evenly on your dogs skin to three spots. Start by applying the medication between the shoulder blades and continue on a second and third spot further down the back. Empty the entire contents of the tube on your dogs skin.
For extra-large dogs (89 to 132 lbs.): Apply all contents of the tube evenly to four spots on your dogs skin starting on the back near the shoulder blades and continuing to spots two, three, and four further down the back.
Do not apply superficially on dogs hair. Try to make direct contact with the dogs skin. Make sure the solution is dry before making contact with the skin.

          this flea medication did not work on either one of my dogs, I had to get comfortis for them to get some releive
          It was costly for it not to work. I so wish i had not bothered with trying something different.
