Help relieve your female dogs urinary incontinence with Incurin. Tablets are FDA approved and available by prescription from your veterinarian.

What is Incurin (Estriol)? This is oral medication available in tablet form to help manage your female spayed dogs urinary leakage(incontinence).

What are the benefits of Incurin?
Treats your dogs urinary incontinence when it caused by hormonal changes that can result after ovariohysterectomy (spay).
Oral tablets are easy to give generally well-tolerated.

Formulated for: female , spayed dogs only.

How is this medication given? Incurin is given by mouth once daily. The dose is not based on your dogs body weight. Always follow your veterinarians precise directions. The recommended dose is to give 1 tablet (1mg) per day for 7-14 days. If this dose is effective after this time period, try to reduce the dose to the minimum possible dose by trying _ tablet/day, then _ tablet on alternate days. If treatment is ineffective at the lower doses, go back to the minimum dose that is effective. If treatment at 1mg daily is ineffective, the dose may be increased to 2mg daily for 7 days as directed by your veterinarian.

How does this medication work? Incurin supplements female, spayed dogs with oestrogen. Replacing oestrogen will help to relieve your pets urinary incontinence when it is caused by low or absent oestrogen levels that occur as a result of the ovariohysterectomy (spay) surgery in female dogs.

What results can I expect? Your dogs clinical symptoms should improve. He/she should stop leaking urine. Effectiveness is defined as no signs of incontinence for 7 consecutive days. An improvement will usually be noticed within a few days. Adjustment of the initial dose will often be necessary. Your veterinarian will help you to figure out the ideal dose of Incurin for your dog. Medication should be continued indefinitely if it is working.

What form(s) does Incurin come in? This medication is an tablet that is given by mouth. It comes in 1 mg strength.

Generic Name: Estriol 1mg

Common Brand Name: Incurin (Merck)

Dose and Administration: Give Incurin as directed by your veterinarian. Dosing is usually started at 1 mg (1 tablet) once daily for 7-14 days. If this dose seems to be working after this period of time, the dose can slowly be reduced to _ tablet on alternate days as directed by your veterinarian. The dose can be adjusted as necessary but should not exceed 2 mg per day. Continue to give this medication indefinitely if it is working.

Uses: Incurin is used to treat hormone-responsive urinary incontinence due to sphincter mechanism incompetence in female spayed dogs.

Possible Side Effects: Vomiting and inappetance were most commonly reported. Reducing the dose generally controls these issues. Other possible side effects are commonly related to administration of female hormones (ex. swollen vulva, breast enlargement, acting in heat). These side effects are not common. Comments about Incurin Tablets for Female Dogs:

Vital medicine for my pet's incontinence which my vet ran out of. Without it she has accidents. Pet360 was awesome about getting the prescription signed by my vet. Customer service was polite, helpful and followed up as they said they would. Nice benefit is that the price is less than my veterinarian office.

Comments about Incurin Tablets for Female Dogs:

Tried Proin but my dog wouldn't take the chewable and it was large to pill her on a daily basis. Proin has worked. On every other day dosing and leaking has resolved.
