My dog was diagnosed with ear mites, yeast infections, given washes and antibiotics for years before I finally had it and took her to a specialist for allergies. Who knew! She is allergic to grains in the food. She had a dark brown/black nasty smelling fluid in her ears and shook her head all the time. Blew a vein and had to have surgery for that in her ear too. After two very expensive vet trips, this dog food made all her problems go away. It is expensive but if you love your dog, it is worth it. Mine is a black AKC Lab.

My little terrier has terrible stomach issues and is extremely finicky about food. This Royal Canin rabbit formula solved both problems for about 3 years, but recently, the food has changed dramatically. It used to be dark, almost black, quite oily, and have a rich odor. By contrast, the past 3 bags have contained dry, light brown kibbles, the good odor is gone, and my dog just will not eat it. We have to doctor his food with gravy and crumbled biscuits to get him to eat it. (If he doesn't eat, he gets very sick.)

This is really sad, because it was so hard to find a food for him. I called Royal Canin and they said they are having a hard time getting consistently good rabbit meat and that the problem is not likely to be resolved any time soon. Very frustrating.

Prior to using this product one of our dogs almost died due to food allergies. After extensive testing, our vet recommended Royal Canine PR foods. For about two months now we have been feeding s combination of Royal Canin PR soft food and dry food to our dogs. Both the one with food allergies and our other dog are enjoying the food. Thanks.

Best Allergy Diet

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Hypoallergenic Selected Protein Adult PR Dry Dog Food:

It was recommended to use this food for a diet trial and we were able to verify that his previous food was contributing to his itching. Now he's much improved and we can move forward with managing his other allergies! He LOVES the food, very palatable! Thanks RC for a quality product that works! The canned version was a life-saver to use for treats and to give medication.
