The younger of my two cats was plagued with urinary tract blockages. He had two emergency and very expensive vet treatments to save his life. The vet recommemded using this Purina prescription product after the grocery store urinary tract blends were not doing the job. Boh of my cats love this food and eat it freely. The younger cat has had no more trouble with blockages after about a year of use. I am quite happy with this food. It is life saving. The extra cost is worth it for the effectiveness.

My cat seems to like this new Urinary blend that we have to have him on post-blockage. He'd been on all dry food leading up to the hospital visit because he has bad teeth (and actually, we think the stress of the cleaning may have been to blame for the block). Wet food is messier but he seems to like this brand and hasn't had any issues with digestion, etc. We'll stick with it because we have to, but I am not thrilled with the amount of animal by-products in the ingredient list. We took great care to keep those out of our cat's diet but it seems we don't have a choice, looking at this and the other vet-prescribed Urinary blends. C'est la vie.

UR cat food

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox Urinary Formula Dry Cat Food:

About 8 1/2 years ago Ur was recommended by our vet and our Chrissy has been only eating that since. He is fine, healthy and a joy to have for a pet. No problems have developed since he started on the food.

I think we could use a 3 oz can. Waste some with large cans.

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox Urinary Formula Dry Cat Food:

My male cat will need this till he dies for Urinary Tract issues due to being in a fire and having colon surgeries and UT surgeries. He still gets UTI's if he doesn't have this food plus can food. It is expensive.

My cat loved it.

Comments about Purina Veterinary Diets UR St/Ox Urinary Formula Dry Cat Food:

My old boy, David, had an urinary episode years ago. He started having other health issues in his later years (pancreatitis, glaucoma, B12/folate deficiency) and became a picky eater that needed oral medication. I bought the UR canned and it was the perfect solution. He liked the taste and there was enough"gravy" to mix his medicine in. Unfortunately, David developed monocytic leukemia at the age of 16 and is no longer with me.
