Our older cat, Moma Cat , showed signs of early kidney failure over a year ago and Prescription Diet dry and wet was recommended. We use the wet can food to mix her other kidney medicine that she wouldn't take and now she comes to the table twice a day for a small portion mixed with her meds. She eats it fine and her most recent blood work shows her kidney failure has stabilized and her blood levels have improved. She is looking to make it to 20 later this year !! While it's true that my cat ate a sample of this renal formula provided by my vet, I was disappointed because the main ingredient is water. It is a very runny stew, not at all like what is pictured in the publicity for this product. The picture shows large chunks of chicken and vegetables, but open the can and you find miniscule pieces of ingredients in liquid. It is very expensive, too. So beware that you are paying a premium for water.

New Formula

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Feline Kidney Care Chicken & Vegetable Stew Canned Food:

My kitty has been eating c/d or k/d food for several years now. After tiring of the pate style food, we tried the stew variety & she loved it - chicken & tuna both. Now that it is new & improved, she won't eat it at all.

From pate to stew

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Feline Kidney Care Chicken & Vegetable Stew Canned Food:

since Hills improved the taste and texture of the chicken pate formula, my cat has refused to accept the new food. I decided to give the chicken and veggie stew a try.....bingo! The chicken stew canned food works like a charm! Each cat is unique so if you are having similar issue with the new chicken pate formula, give it a try.
