When my cat first went on this special medicine (a little over a year ago) there was two options for flavor, the plain chicken flavor nibblets or the plain chicken flavor pate. I bought one bag and one case of the pate - I still have about 6 cans of the pate, and threw about 1/2 of the rest in the trash. He would only tolerate the wet food when he was absolutely sick of the dry food, and only then would eat about a table spoon. I would open a whole can and it would go to waste because the next time i gave him some of it he just wouldnt eat it. in February of this year I went online and PRAYED that there were other options for him, he gained about 4 lbs in a year because of the high calories of the nibblets. They finally had other choices. I bought a bag of the tune and a case of the canned tuna rice and veggies. I dont like that the cans are smaller, ( i was hoping to get 2 days out of 1 can now he eats a whole can once a day). He LOVES it. he seems happier for sure and even though i haven't weighed him i can definitely tell he has lost some weight, he doesnt look like he swallowed a cantelope anymore! To give you some insite my cat started last year at about 16 lbs. In September at his check up he weighed 18 and before i found this stuff he was 20. i am not sure what he is now but i can tell he has lost some weight. I give him 1/4 cup dry in the AM (around 7) he gets a can of wet at 4PM and he gets another 1/4 cup scoop at about 10PM. He had been betting about 1 cup total a day (at dr suggestion) and if he didnt get 1/2 cup at 7 AM he would be attacking my legs around 1 or 2 PM. He is now happy and healthier and I actually love that his breath smells like tuna - it means he likes it! Hopefully this helped!
