If this product expensive? Yes....but you get what you pay for. Knowing you can feed this product and not have to worry about your cat developing more urinary tract issues is: PRICELESS! I spent $1700 in vet bills before I found this product. There are others that claim to be sensitive to the needs of cats with urinary tract issues but don't do any better at preventing problems that any other ordinary food. This product actually does what it promises, no ifs ands or buts! Terrific product and my picky eater car loves it!

The only good thing I can say about this food is that my cat hasn't gotten bladder stones again since he's been eating it. He needed two surgeries in 2010 to get rid of the oxalate stones. Nothing will dissolve these stones, so they need to be prevented at all costs. I know this food is garbage because his coat is dull, he has dandruff, and he pukes up the food regularly. However, the stones are life-threatening and as long as they don't come back, I'll keep buying this expensive garbage food. I would only recommend this as a last resort if you cat has recurring oxalate stones. Otherwise, it is garbage and I truly feel bad that I have to feed it to my cat.

Works great for my cat!

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

My cat got bladder stones about 3 years ago and the vet put me on this to see if it could help her pass the stones without surgery and it worked! She was fine while she was on it. A year after I had her off it she got some again though and I was informed it is easy for stones to come back so now she is on it all the time and never has a problem! The big bag is expensive but it last for 6 months or more for one cat. 10/10 Would recommend.

Probably Works, but Flakey Skin

By K8lyn

from VA

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

My 1 1/2 year old cat got idiopathic cystitis a few months ago. That's when our vet suggested that he switched to this food. While he hasn't had any more incidents with cystitis, his once silky fur has now become dry and flakey. He used to be on Natural Balance which kept him looking great. I'm going to try supplementing with fish oil to try to help his skin, but it makes me wonder how well balanced the food is.

    Urinary SO is great

    By Cat Feeder

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Dry Cat Food:

My male cat has been eating Urinary SO food for over 10 years. He has never experienced another urinary tract infection during all of that time. I switched from the wet canned food to the dry pellet food about seven years ago, when the price of the canned food practically doubled and became far more expensive than the dry version. I am very happy with this product. The only way to purchase it is through my local veterinarian's office, and they keep it well stocked.

Our vet recommended this product for our senior cat. She has been using this for years now and seems to really enjoy it. Shipping is quick and the price is fair. I highly recommend this if your cat has UTI problems, the wet version is also a quality product.
