after my older dog was diagnosed as Diabetic I was advised by my vet to start him on this food. I was a little concerned, but he LOVES it and unfortunately so do his other little buddies, who prefer it over the name brands that I was feeding them.. seems all my dogs now have expensive tastes..

My vet recommended this food for my West Highland Terrier with diabetes. I am concerned because I can't find a carbohydrate content for it. This doesn't make sense. If this food is designed for diabetic dogs, then the percentage of carbohydrate should be there with protein, fat, and the other ingredients. I am going to contact the company for more information. My dog really likes it, but I want to know exactly what I am feeding so she won't have to take too much insulin to make up for too heavy carb content food. At this point I recommend it as far as taste goes, but I will change my rating if the company does not provide adequate information. On the site dog food advisor, it stated that the company would not release the information regarding their food. This is concerning, but I will find out the facts and then write another review.

My dog likes the canned food

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Glycobalance Formula Dry Dog Food:

I started using this product because of vet recommendation. He likes the can, but is indifferent with the dry food. He seems to not be gaining any weight. It makes him poop a LOT. Not a satisfied customer.

Took back $200 worth of Hills back to PetSmart today and traded in it for Canned and Dry Glycobalance...My dog Hated the Hills and was on a hunger Strike for a few days...The quality of the Royal is sooooo much better, right down to the small details like putting a zip lock seal on the bag! Hills deleted my post on their site , just told my true story and they didn't like that! Thanks Royal
