No one expects their happy, bouncy Lab puppy to have to undergo 2 orthopedic surgeries before they turn 18 months old-but that is exactly what happened to my pup, Alvy, when she ruptured both of her ACL's. A once vibrant, bouncing puppy turned in to a little old lady dog-it was painful to watch as it was painful for her! At the recommendation of our orthopedic surgeon, Alvy started Prescription Diet j/d-and the healing process began. Of course she was on pain relief medications before and immediately post operative, but it was obvious she needed much lower doses and required them for shorter periods than dogs undergoing those same surgeries who weren't being fed the j/d diet. j/d is a perfect solution for busy families who don't have time to measure out separate supplements and food additives, and who realize the benefits of "medicating with diet." Alvy will be staying on j/d to help keep her lean and fit, to help protect not only those (expensive!) surgically repaired knees but as preventive care for all of her other joints, too. Thank you, Hill's, for helping to return Alvy to her happy, bouncy self! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This food is terrible! If you look at the ingredients and actually research what they are, you will find that these are actually not good for your dog, especially with a sensitive stomach. The first ingredient is ground corn, the chicken by product isn't the actual meat of the chicken but the organs and other "usuable" parts that are actually harder for your dog to digest. There are peanut hulls, which is filler and have absolutely no nutritional value. I can't believe my vet recommended this to me. I went to a Holistic pet food store and found food that was much more economical with far better ingredients than this stuff. My dog is doing wonderful and we haven't had any problems since. I hope this will help someone out there. Remember your vet gets money for selling this stuff to you so you can keep bringing your dog back to them. Holistic truly is the way to go.

Hello again!

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet j/d Canine Mobility Dry Food:

Our 14 year old deaf pug began to interact again with the family instead of sleeping 24/7 and actually broke into a trot instead of walking painfully and slowly. We tried to figure out what had changed and the only difference was the switch to Hill's J/D prescription diet. After 2 weeks she became perky, attentive, and more active. Amazing what a diet change can do.

Excellent Senior Food

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet j/d Canine Mobility Dry Food:

I've been feeding this to my 13 year old labrador for the last year or so of her life and it has positively impacted her mobility. It's also formulated well for an aging pup so I can give her the 4 cups of food she's used to without giving her too calorie dense of a diet. Keeping weight off of her was more of a challenge before I switched her to this more age appropriate diet.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet j/d Canine Mobility Dry Food:

my 3 yr old Great Dane and 11 yr old Boxer have been on this food for about 2 yrs after the dane had a knee injury and the boxer was diagnosed with arthritis in both knees, what a difference it has made, my boxer will run around the yard like a pup and the danes injury is resolved but will stay on this formula forever also, as preventive, they have soft shiny coats, and love the taste of their food, they gobble it right up, such a high quality food

This dog food was recommended by my Veterinarian (Dr. Lynch) because the dogs are 9 and 12 years old and they have very bad Arthritis.

I would love to continue my dog on it for her joint health but it doesn't come grain free and she itches when she eats it.
