My pug Lily has had terrible skin issues her entire life. She was getting sores and blisters in between her toes of her paws, in her folds and on her private areas and butt. Also , had constant ear infections and was miserable half the time. We switched her to ZD 4 years ago and it all ended. She hasn't had a sore since and has only had the occasional ear infection. She likes it, granted there isn't much food she does't like. We started adding a large spoon full of the canned ZD to her dry last year, just because she's old and deserves a little treat. She does still lick her feat a ton but we think it is more of a nervous habit than an itching issue. Great product and has saved a ton of money is vet appointments.

Our 9 year old English Bull has had issues with loose stools on&off for the last 3 years. We have tried numerous dogfoods and supplements. Our vet recommended Hills prescription diet.

We switched to this brand 3 months ago.
Ever since, we have to clean him multiple times a day, his stools are very soft, greasy, extremely foul smelling, and black.

English Bulldogs are prone to intestinal issues and food sensitivity, but with other foods the soft stools were not daily.

The one pro for us was he has less gas.

Poor packaging

By Sandibeach

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet z/d Canine Skin & Food Sensitivities Dry Food:

I bought a 100 lb bag of this very expensive dog food upon recommendation of my vet. Trying everything to help my schnauzer from itching. I guess I can't fault the food not helping. But I do fault the bag for not closing tightly. It has a velcro closing which isn't very secure. The ants found it and invaded.

Great dog food, poor packaging

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet z/d Canine Skin & Food Sensitivities Dry Food:

When I buy this dog food, I great for my dog and the paper bag it comes in is great for the environment. Oh wait, no it's not, the packaging was changed to a plastic, non biodegradable bad for the environment bag. Just what I would expect from a world wide animal promoting company.

LOVE z/d! But the price...

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet z/d Canine Skin & Food Sensitivities Dry Food:

We absolutely love z/d by Hills. Our dog goes crazy over it every day, which he has never done before for any food. He's a little boston terrier who is gassy and frequently vomits in the middle of the night from upset belly. We tried several different types of food before we settled on this per vet recommendation. Our little guy is now 5 night vomit free and that is saying something! We are on a tight budget at the moment which makes the price a little frustrating since we eats like a cow. However, he's worth it and the price is *almost* worth it!

No More Diarrhea!

By Nana2017

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet z/d Canine Skin & Food Sensitivities Dry Food:

Our Lab mix was adopted from a shelter. He was skinny and had diarrhea or at best very loose stools. Yuk!! Our vet recommended that we try z/d. The difference is amazing. He is healthy with no runny tummy with a beautiful shinny coat! We are careful to only give him very pure treats or use the z/d as treats. Duke loves the taste! The food is expensive but worth it! I highly recommend this food.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet z/d Canine Skin & Food Sensitivities Dry Food:

The kibble size pellets are so small that our dog does not chew it. She just licks it up and swallows it whole. She can clean out her bowl in about 30 seconds or less. She can't eat anything else so she does not get to chew on anything except the special dog treats we can give her. It would be nice if they made a large dog size kibble that the dog would have to chew rather than just inhaling it. I see there are other large dog owners who would like to see the same thing happen. Hopefully the maker of this food will hear our voices and make a change. Even though we all may like this dog food for our dogs, it could still be made better. So just because we like it and would even recommend it to others, it could still use some improvement. So please don't ignore our voices.
