Help your pet to feel better when he/she suffers from excess fluid production (edema) as a result of certain medical conditions when you administer Salix as directed by your veterinarian.

What is Salix?an oral medication that acts as a diuretic to help draw excess fluid off of the body that accumulates due to heart failure, kidney failure, and other medical problems. It may also be effective in treating high blood pressure (hypertension).

What are the benefits of Salix?
  • Easy to give.
  • Can remove extra fluid from the body caused by congestive heart failure, heart problems, kidney problems, and other conditions.
  • May also help in the management of hypertension (high blood pressure)

Formulated for: Salix may be given to dogs, cats, and horses.

How is this medication given?Give Salix by mouth exactly according to your veterinarians instructions with or without food. Make sure your pet has access to water at all times while on this medication.

If you have any questions regarding the use of Salix, contact your veterinarian.

How does this medication work?Salix is a diuretic that blocks the absorption of salt and fluid in the kidney tubules causing an increase in urine output. This helps rid the body of excess fluid.

What results can I expect? Salix helps to relieve the symptoms associated with your pets excess fluid accumulation (edema) but it will not cure the primary problem. This will help improve your pets quality of life.

This medication is quick acting so you may notice a difference in your pet quickly. Salix is very short-acting so it needs to be given on schedule in order to continue to see results.

What form(s) does Salix come in? oral tablets.

Generic Name:Furosemide(Common Drug Name)

Common Brand Name:Salix

Dose and Administration: Give Salix exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian. It is given orally with or without food. Your pet may drink and urinate more while on this medication so he/she should have unrestricted access to water at all times.

If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember but never give two doses at one time. Salix should not be given to any animals other than the one it has been prescribed for.

Uses:Use Salix to assist in removing extra fluid from your pets body as a result of heart failure, heart problems, kidney problems, and other medical conditions.
